I have played 11 games I believe and in my opinion this game is a lot of fun, I won’t dispute that, but it is hands down the most new player friendly Halo game ever. The AR kill time is really fast and the range makes using a BR or DMR almost pointless unless you are using them for long range, I mean cross the map long range, and the SMG might be worse. The maps are ok so far, I do like the midship remake and sprinting is nerfed to a point of being tolerable, I won’t ever say that people can’t get away from bad decisions with thrusters and sprint combined. I am looking forward to the new maps and objective gametypes as this beta continues. This game is going to be fun and it will continue the series.
I do believe however that 343 doesn’t care about their old school community and here’s why. This game can be picked up by someone who has never played Halo before and get kills and feel good about themselves, unlike the original Halo’s that took precision aim to get kills. Gamers today bounce from game to game so fast that if the skill gap is too large that they move onto a different one because they don’t want to spend months even years learning the skill gap of certain games, Halo especially when it comes to shooters. As much as I want 343 to make Halo into the Hardcore get punished for not knowing weapon respawn locations, map control points, timers on weapon respawns, and specific jumps on maps, I don’t blame them for turning Halo into new player friendly. As the old school fans continue to get older the less they are going to play Halo and video games in general. In conclusion, from what I have played, the game is going to be fun and easy, I don’t doubt there will be some juggernauts but the skill gap has dropped dramatically. The old school fans that want the four basics back, jump, melee, pistol/BR, and grenade, with whoever has the best shot wins are gone. Now it’s sprint, thrusters, shoulder charge, (ground pound is worthless doesn’t bring anything to the table), prophets bane and spraying automatic weapons to have actually a lot more success then running around with just the br.
Let me know what you guys think and you don’t need to quote these paragraphs just post.
Agree to some extent with the AR but if your really good with the BR and DMR you still dominate everything. To be honest sounds like you haven’t found a good team to go against yet.

I agree, but not to the extent of past Halo’s, the br and dmr use to win in close range battles now you need to be really good to guarantee the mid range battle wins.
Well, I can’t really judge whether or not a game is easier than a previous one. But then again, the previous games couldn’t have been too hard if they got massive followings. They were obviously open enough for people to get into, yet rewarding enough for people develop top-tier levels within the community Not sure if Halo 5 will accomplish this, but I’ve been playing Halo for years and I couldn’t have been older than 12 when I first played Halo 2 online splitscreen at friend’s houses and did well. Hell, one of the big pros back in Halo 2 and Halo 3’s time was 6 year-old Lil Poison.

But that makes sense, the AR should beat the BR in close range and it should beast the DMR. The problem im having with the AR atm is that with smart scope its got a big too much range.

I personally think that the SMG should have more of a reduced spread when scoped in, and the AR should not have any benefit to scoping in at all.
This game is actually really hard when you get matched up with skilled players.
Also, to people who keep throwing the term “skill gap” around, if you are always dominating then that means there is a LARGE skill gap, not a small one. If it had a small one then everybody would be performing about the same (Call of Duty).

The skill gap is smaller because the kill times are nothing and if you see someone first especially with an ar or smg unless you can’t walk and aim at the same time then you will get the kill.
