The 'early access' with LCE

Does anyone know if it’s JUST the access to download/install, or is it actually allowing us to play a week early? If it’s just downloading/getting the stuff earlier… why exactly is that worth the 250 again? Are they going to change it up, and allow us to actually PLAY a week early?

Anyone have a link to an answer?

I’m pretty sure it is so players with slow internet speed can have it installed for release, but no early playing. However I may be wrong.

It is to pre-install, I do not think you will be able to play it a week early, that seems quite unfair, and I am getting it and I do not agree with them doing that if they did. That just doesn’t seem fair. $250 is for a two statues, steelbook case, which MAY have a disc in it, they are working on it, REQ packs and misc lore items I’m assuming.

I’m pretty sure it’s just to pre-install/download.

Its for pre-download. They cant put a disc in because they wont have the LCE shipments ready and delivered for release day.

There is no ability to play early with any version of Halo 5. You will be able to pre-download so you can play on release (27th), but there is no early access available

Glad I know now, I thought that they got to play the game a whole week early.

That’s just them trying to justify the lack of a disc as a feature, not a blunder. Trick folks into thinking they get “early access” when in fact they just get the standard digital per-instal.

They clarified it was to pre install, whered you get trickery at?

I had the same question and now that I know it’s only a pre-install, I’ll most likely downgrade my preorder and get the LE. With the 150 you save, you can just buy req packs.

Who knows… I’ll probably break down and buy the LCE, down the road but as for now, the statue isn’t worth the extra 150. Maybe the console will be a decent price and I’ll end up getting that

Agreed, I had it preordered through best buy, and had 50$ off… still not worth the 200$ total. I’ll just stick with the regular edition.

OH THANK GOD
I could not handle someone being too far ahead of me in the campaign b/c they bought the LCE

Yeah I don’t think they let anyone play Halo five early I mean the last time I know that someone got to played a multiplayer a bit early was the guys from a YouTube channel called inside gaming daily and I can’t remember the names but they were a part of the massive Live stream event for halo 4 but yeah I don’t think anyone will be able to play halo 5 for early unless they’re part of some sort of the media event where they do live stream for halo five or some sort of a promotional thing and then it wouldn’t let anyone who has pre-ordered Limited collectors edition I meant It will be i’m fair for people who didn’t preorder that edition of the game not be able to do the same but hey I could be wrong The best thing to do is to wait and find out what 343 gonna do in regards to what’s happening with the limited collectors Edition Because right now niggBecause right now they have one problem to deal with in regards to the limit collect Edition I don’t think They need a another problem

Really? In my friendlist I always see people playing early, and I myself for example had the MCC 3 days before its release. (normal pre order from my store)
And I could play it normaly. (as far as possible with the MCC lol)

That’s usually the retailers fault. They either accidentally or purposely released the game before the actual release date. If they’re caught that can ge them a hefty fine.

I’d suggest not to play it too early if this happens to you as sometimes MS bans people for playing a game before the release date as they assume it was obtained illegitemately.

It all depends if they allow the access to their servers, because if they allow you to pre-install, it won’t matter how early you get your game, the connection will never happen. So, that’s why I’m curious if they would make it worth our while for paying so much. I mean, you can still play the Campaign offline…

But because it’s a digital code and not a physical disc, it’s going to be behind the same wall as everyone who preordered a digital verision. That’s the whole point of not giving LCE-buyers a disc, so they can’t play the game early at all, not even offline campaign. They will be able to preload the game, but they won’t be able to launch it before October 27th, just like everyone who bought a digital version through the Xbox Store.

That is the most ridiculous thing I’ve heard. I’m so glad I didn’t keep my preorder of the LCE, this is just… no. Not worth the money. I’ve been all but disappointed with the last few ‘collectors’ editions I’ve bought, but this one would just be the worst of all. At least the one I bought with Destiny has Dinkle talking to me with lights.
