The dumbest feature in the game.

Why is there join in progress?
I really need to know a logical reason as to why 343 Industries would add this ridiculous feature that was not needed.

My win/loss record is atrocious now because of this.
I have lost more than half of my games because I always join in on losing games. Even when playing with friends and a team.

Why 343? Why would you make it to where someone can join in on a game where they have no chance of even winning?

I have literally joined in on 4 games in a row, all of which we are losing by a large number. I joined in an Oddball game where the other team had 286 points. What’s they point in joining on that. I was literally in the game for 14 seconds.
All that did was add a loss to my record.

This feature seriously needs to be taken out of the game.
It is one of the most senseless thing you could have put in the game.
I would rather play a game where everyone had Boltshots than join in on a game that I’m losing from the beggining. At least I would have a chance of winning that way.

You guys are honestly destroying a great game and anyone who disagrees with me has never played another Halo game before Halo Reach or you’re at the IQ level of a potato.

Honestly, my trust in 343 has disintegrated.

I like the JIP system, it makes playing with a low population easier. we are loosing dudes everyday.

> I like the JIP system, it makes playing with a low population easier. we are loosing dudes everyday.

Want to know why we’re losing people everyday?
Probably because of all the dumb things in this game. Especially the join in progress feature. The people are speaking what they want in Halo and were saying what they wanted and 343 gave the exact opposite.

They are honestly the worst gaming company I have ever seen in terms of communication and listening to the community. It’s disgusting.

You realize you can make JIP optional.

My most annoying feature is using an XP ranking system and having players reach 130 within 3 weeks of the release date.

Yeah, what were they thinking?

I used to love playing games of BTB over and over and being spawn camped for 12 minuets because half the team left before the game even started. Then being threatened with a quit ban if I leave the horribly unbalanced game. Yeah, what’s up with that? I mean that system was SO much better.

I’ll take my chances with join in progress over that horrible excuse for matchmaking.

I’ll admit it can suck, but I would rather play a game with even teams than play with uneven teams because the “Pros” are worried about their win/loss ratio.

And tbh i hardly ever join a game that’s almost over, but that’s just my experience.

I agree. I have lost many games by being placed in a on-going game. On a side note, the population in this game is ridiculous! I recently watched a Halo 3 YouTube video to bring back some good old memories and the total population was 369,000+! And this was when Halo 3 was 2 years old(year 2009). Halo 4 is managing what, 300,000 players and the game has been out for 2 months. The join-in-progress system is just terrible! It seems like in the newer Halo games(Reach and 4) winning doesn’t matter. And with the upcoming CSR system being implemented, it’s going to be even worse. Things such as getting de-ranked because you joined late are going to annoy me. Can’t wait for Halo 2 Anniversary if there’s going to be one.

How do you make it optional?

I do hate the JiP sometimes when I joined a losing team and the match ended a minute later. I don’t mind joining a game in the beginning of a match or mid-way but joining at the end just sucks.

How to avoid JIP. Works like a charm.

I can’t believe people actually enjoy this stupid excuse for Matchmaking.
The playlists choices are ridiculous and on top of that you join in on games that are already going on. I’m sorry, this isn’t CoD.

I would MUCH rather play a game where I have an even start with the other team, not where I join in a game where the other team is about to win and my team has 0 points because people keep quitting once they join because they see they are going to lose anyways.

That’s not making it optional. That’s just avoiding it.
There should be an option to turn it off and on.

JIP is good when it works. Sometimes can be annoying. Personally, super unbalanced matches aside, I like how teams even out when people quit due to X reason, rage quit or lag out.

>install JIP into halo 4
>keep quit-ban

-343’s logic

Quitting was a problem in Reach. And when one person quit, which happens often enough, the whole team was at a disadvantage.

It sucks when you’re put on the losing side over halfway through, but, them’s the breaks to have the ability to keep a game full all of the time.

You’re splitting hairs. If you want to JIP you can and if you don’t you can opt out. FWIW I’m a random in most of my nearly 3000 games and I don’t mind JIP. I’d rather play a balanced, full game instead of one that’s lopsided.

there should be a quit ban. there should always be a quit ban. you quitting a game that im in hurts my experience, so it should hurt yours too.

anyway.
ever since Halo 2 came out and i played it on live i thought there should be a join in progress feature. all too often through the years of halo i have been left high and dry by my team in 4v2or 1 games. I was thrilled that JIP was added to halo 4. yes it need some work. but i think its great.

People Whinned like babies about quitter so 343 did something so you don’t have to cry about a teammate quitting and now you’re crying again about it??? god you people are never satisfied.

and if I can remember correctly Halo CE PC had JIP so d:

Look, I know it’s a way to keep team size fair and what not, but what’s fair about joining in on games where you have no chance of winning?

I would much rather have my team mates quit and it be just me and another guy or me by myself. I could probably win that way anyways instead of having the 99% of bad kids that play this game join in with me or me join in with them.
