Has anyone read the forerunner trilogy by Greg Bear.
The reason I ask is that it has been a few years since I have read these books, and there is a point about the domain that I would like clarified.
Besides the forerunners the books look into another super race of beings known as the precursors. The precursors were an extinct ancient alien race are the ones who created the flood. At the time of the forerunners the universe was covered in precursor artifacts which were thought to be indestructible. That was until the first test fire of the halo ring, which showed that a side effect of the halo was that it destroyed precursor structures.
The books also discussed something called the domain. Something which was not created by the forerunners, but they had access to it and was also almost part of a religion for them (sort of) and is used to store all forerunner history
In the last book of the series the gravemind, which is in fact the last precursor, reveals to the librarian that the domain is another precursor construct, meaning that it will be destroyed by the halo firing and that all forerunner history will be lost forever.
So if the domain was destroyed. How has cortana accessed it in halo 5?
Have I mis-understood somethin? Maybe I should read the books again?
