So as usually you go on the forum and the long forum battles over the DMR the BR etc etc is still going on since the release of the game, now, I have used both DMR BR LR AR Carbine etc etc and they are all good weapons, I like the looks of the LR but I do not use it in battle because the feel just isn’t right, I like to use the BR as it looks and feels amazing, but it isn’t the job for long range battles (Even tho 343 did say on the sandbox they was gonna be exactly the same so it is fair), the DMR has good range low recoil and a nice fire rate, the Carbine fast fire rate and uses a heck of a lot more ammo to kill but the rate of fire balances it out nicely, again the range not so good.
So, what should be done?
Nerf DMR, change it? Change the other guns?

My opinion, well look at the link and you will see the differences in weapons and why people are moaning.
I think that the weapon needs to be changed. I think that they should just lower the rate of fire and make the unscoped reticle the size of the UNSC sniper’s.
I know that many people say that it is not flawed but you have to look at it logically. Its ok to three weapons ( lightrifle, dmr, br) that kill with the same amount of bullets, while also having different fire rates, but the fire rates cannot be so different to the point where one can out shoot the other with little effort.
It is true that the br is a little faster then the un scoped lightrifle, but not enough to make the firefights uneven. With the dmr, you have a gun that is lenient when it comes to missing shots because the fire rate allows you to shoot pretty fast.
A gun that is very accurate and a starter weapon should be focused rewarding accuracy and not just shooting over and over at the head.
The br has recoil so that you have to make you pace your shot after each recoil. The carbine has a high rate of fire, but forces you to make every shot count because of its 8 shot kill, and because of the fact that one clip can only get you 2 kills against fully shield opponents if your accurate. The lightrifle’s reticle rewards accuracy and well placed shots.
…and the dmr has range fire rate and accuracy.
I like all the weapons, but obviously I’m going to be using the DMR on bigger maps. My only issue with that weapon is it feels like 5sk sniper it got a way bigger zoom than how it was in Reach. I feel too powerful with it at times, but other than that love the game and the weapons.
The thing about Halo 3 which annoyed me was from far away the BR was your best hope and on big maps if I got shot by it there was no point in fighting back since non of the other weapons had the range efficiency, it’s the same now, you get shot from cross map with a DMR you have no match apart from get to cover and camp, or run and hopefully dodge their fire, the BR doesn’t have that range anymore and if you mash the trigger down you will see the BR has recoil when firing which is a pain when your having battles pretty far on the battlefield plus the fire rate of the DMR has that extra bit of speed. When using the DMR the bloom to me doesn’t do anything? I can spam the trigger as much as I can and land every shot, close range mid long it really doesn’t matter I think there should be a more variety of balance from long range, so far to beat a DMR get a sniper, Binary rifle etc. 343 should really do big forum polls about stuff like this so everybody is happy. Things such as ordinance drops, armor ability’s, perks etc could easily make separate playlists which do activate these things so its like Halo 3. That is my opinion that way everybody is happy and gets a way and nobody is left out.
Wow finally some truth, the DMR is perfect!!!
