We’re nearly a week away from a full month since launch. But I’m still the unlucky one in regards to REQ packs. And I know I’m not the only one. For starters, for the first week, I hadn’t played a single match where I had been killed or stole someone else’s DMR. I’ve even bought 6 gold packs along the way (so $18 worth) to no avail. I do get some pretty nice rares from time to time like I just got the Corps Tank and regular tank a few days ago.
It certainly doesn’t help that I keep getting uncommon armor duplicates, since you know, everyone wants four different versions of Recruit…
I’ve pretty much tried everything. Shortly after buying nothing but gold in the first few days, I switched to nothing but bronze until the commons and uncommons dried up. Then I moved up to silver and occasionally gold. And between that and the weekly warzone premium bundle packs, all the commendation packs Ive earned and getting up to level 52, I’ve only managed to receive most of the AR variants and half of both the BR and SMG variants.
I feel like it should’ve been a ‘first to’ situation. Specifically, keep the variants as pure unlockables but have the AR and Pistol as defaults (as they are now), earn the vanilla BR at level 10, the vanilla SMG at level 20 and the vanilla DMR at level 30 (if you hadnt already unlocked them randomly of course.)
And of course my friend managed to get one at level 14 in a gold pack. Opening packs can be fun, but it can also be incredibly frustrating when something that shouldnt be so hard to get is incredibly hard to get.
EDIT: Finally got one. But at level 53 it seems a bit late.
Having the same problem. I started getting all silvers but now 99% of the time I’m just buying bronze and selling all the extra mongeese and needlers etc that I don’t need. I really don’t know where or how to go about getting it when it’s literally the only weapon I want. I guess a benefit from it is that I’ve gotten to know and appreciate the magnum alot through this process though. Just keep choppin away my friend.
it took me ages to get dmr’s but through countless silver and gold packs i finally started getting them but that’s because I’m running out of rare stuff to get in Silver packs. I have 109 Helmets 111 Armor 26 Visor All but 3 AR all but 2 BR and I’m only missing 2 weapon skins and assassinations( uncommon to rare that is) and it wasn’t until all that…that i got a dmr
That’s the nature of RNG, especially when there’s such a large pool to pick from.
I haven’t gotten it yet either, though for each of us there are plenty others who got it right away.
RNG is RNG. The game hasn’t even been out a month yet, it’s not that big of a deal in the long-run. You’ll probably look back & laugh a year from now.
If you really want to get it quick, stick to Warzone Assault for a while due to the huge REQ/Time payouts, plus the fact that most of it is close-range, so the DMR wouldn’t be too helpful anyway.
That being said, I do agree that they should tweak the algorithms to prioritize basic weapons first. The DMR is so popular that they’re probably annoying a lot of customers with this system.
I managed to get a DMR Awhile ago but it’s one of the REQ level 8 DMRs and I literally have not had the chance to use it yet. The regular DMR is REQ level 6.
I managed to get the DMR with the long barrel and longshot sight. I unlocked it in my first gold pack, but as its not the standard issue DMR, I can’t use it until Level 8. Which I’ve never actually been able to get to yet in a game. I managed to pick one up off the floor in a game recently and I managed to get some assists with it and that was without even trying.
I don’t mind not being able to obtain it yet…over time, the more other stuff I permanently unlock, my chances of getting the standard DMR increase considerably.
Yeah, I’m somewhere around level 46, bought only Silver packs and maybe five Gold packs, still haven’t gotten a vanilla DMR or even a variant. It’s driving me nuts.

Same, unlocked a rare one that’s Level 8 to use, which means I won’t ever be using it…
Side note - played me some BTB most of the evening last night and all I used was the DMR… Forget power weapons and vehicles. There were so many DMR’s… just lying there, waiting for me to use… It was beautiful how effortless it was to kill other Spartans.

Well the base dmr is rare quality, so for starters you’ll never get it in a bronze pack.

Is it that easy in mm? I don’t have much hands on time with it.
Don’t sleep on the bronze packs Spartan. I yet to get the DMR but I don’t use it often so I don’t mind but here is a tip for you. Buy bronze packs til they stop giving you permanent unlocks. I’ve received weapon skins, visors, armour, vehicle certifications, and weapon certifications. Then bump to silver and gold packs. I normally purchase with REQ point’s when I hit 62K then I buy 5 bronze packs, 3 silver packs and 2 gold packs. What ever I have left over I’ll pick what else or just go back to boost cards for more REQ’s. There are challenges that earn you specific REQ pack’s. Look at the section for kills with specific weapons in mastery. You’ll see what you will earn in that very large section. XP points down to REQ pack’s. Hope this helps you.
i also have only gotten 1 dmr skin & the ultra rare dmr (long barrel or something that unlocks at level 8) and never been able to use it… closest ive come has been req level 7.5… i wish these had less level requirements but that is prob why you never see dmr’s in warzone.
maybe tweak it to have the base at level 4 and the rares at 6 or something
so dont complain even once you get it thru a req pack you wont be able to use it lol
