The DMR ruins BTB.

Due to the DMR’s 3x zoom, incredible accuracy and fast kill-time, 95% of matches just result in the two teams shooting each other from the other side of the map with DMR’s. It’s bloody boring. The only vehicle that makes any headway is the Mantis since all of the vehicles are now made of tissue paper. Even the Banshee succumbs to continuous DMR spam.

In Halo 3 vehicles were to be feared, the two teams fought viciously over the power weapons so that the other team couldn’t dominate one side with vehicles. Now that the DMR is an effective anti-vehicle weapon, and the best weapon to use on BTB (bar the Binary Rifle which you see too much of anyway) games just become about whoever takes the middle ground first. Vehicles can’t dislodge the enemy team, even the Mantis will crumble under 3+ DMR spammers.

Agreed. Halo 3 vehicle play was the best the series has seen and something that they should try to get back to. Vehicles in this game are a death trap. Not much fun to use at all.

I agree to a point, and Ragnarok is the best example. Once blue team takes the downed pelican, it just becomes a DMR battle from Red base and the center hill. I wouldn’t know about the other maps, since I’m always stuck playing on bloody Ragnarok.

However, Longbow and Exile seem to be slightly different. There’s a healthy mixture of long-range battles and CQC depending on the situation. It also helps to mix it up and play a mixture of slayer and objective games to keep things lively.
