The Bolt shot: I dont mind it but it rewards campers
The DMR: It is a tad bit op, it can easily defeat anyone at almost any distance.
Any Full auto: Under powered, and or bloom/spread to quickly.
My point is that someone with a DMR/ BR can defeat anyone with a full auto weapon at almost any range that isn’t point blank. So instead of nerfing the DMR (which I know would piss allot of people off) I would like to see the damaged increase at closer ranges with the Full Autos , OR just slow the spread so they are more accurate and get more hits at semi-mid range. I think this would help on DMR/BR spamming.
Buff the BR and Carbine. The Autos are fine. They wreck at close range. The DMR is also fine. The problem is the bad players.

Its the really good players using the DMR… that’s the problem. BOOM HEAD SHOT! XD
But I have to disagree, anything past like 10 feet(in game) and the autos are garbage vs the DMR/BR.

So because good players are good with a good gun it should be made bad?
The autos have to be used cleverly. If you’re finding them underpowered you’re doing it wrong.

No man, didn’t you read? I said “to avoid nerfing the DMR” the Autos should be changed. Unless you camp there are to many long hallways and open spaces that the DMR/BR have a distinct advantage in. Even the supposed CQB maps are dominated by people including myself using the DMR. The autos just fall short in usefulness since they have such a lack of power and range.

Well all I know is I have never found the autos lacking and I don’t camp. Also, using the Firepower package means you can have the best of both worlds.

Also, the Assault Rifle is my favourite weapon at the moment and I use it almost exclusively. I can tell you right now that the automatic weapons are fine in terms of overall balance. Although I wouldn’t mind some more distinctions between the automatics. If anything is a problem, it’s the DMR but it certainly isn’t overpowered.
One more thing, am I the only one who uses the Boltshot as a finisher weapon? Not as a mini shotgun?
I only find major imbalance on large maps, longbow and ragnarok are fully dominated by dmr fire, unless you get someone in a base or cave your screwed without one, light rifles do ok but you might as well have a HUD arrow over you. DMR shrinks maps because it has a equal or better kill time with unlimited range compared to any other loadout gun, not necessarily overpowered but lacking any noticeable con to using it

Yea I know and I do use that, like noNAME1985 said its because I feel like there is nothing competitive with it. If you use the DMR you dont even have to be really talented with it to be victorious vs an Automatic as long as your not IN THERE FACE, you will win. Thats why I think the Autos could use just a minuscule amount of tweaking to make them more competitive at mid to close range.
The DMR needs a little bit of tweaking but not much. It is after all a semi auto .308 being carried by supersoldiers. It should be better than the BR at range but not to an extent that it becomes an anti-sniper weapon.

They’re not supposed to be competitive outside of close range. That is why the Magnum exists as a secondary.
I personally hated how the AR would just destroy me at long range in Reach. I’m glad they made the range shorter in Halo 4. I think it’s fine.
I’m fine with the automatics as is, storm rifle and suppressor are monsters, but of the so called precision weapons the dmr has an undeniable advantage on large open maps, to the point where 3/4 of the maps either go unused or all the other guns take a backseat/secondary role

Precision weapons being precise? What nonsense!
