Ok guys, so check this out. This is about the DMR damage… BEAR WITH ME!
I’ve been playing halo 4 since the day it came out. I LOVE this game, I barely play any of my other games anymore lol.
BUT there is one thing I do not like… It’s that so many people use the DMR. It’s supposed to be a longer range gun, and I see people using it on small maps like adrift! Why are they not using their AR or storm rifle? Why are they using a long range weapon on such a small map? This makes me mad. I’ve noticed a lot of the halo community now uses the DMR because it is a lot more powerful then most weapons. I didn’t think I would be agreeing with the all the people complaining on the forums, but I DO believe 343 should nerf the DMR a tad bit. Not because I’m getting mad about getting killed with it every single game I play, just because I would like to see see variety.
People have been given load outs customizable to their own favor, so many weapons to chose from, yet they settle for the DMR in every single class? I would much rather see Spartans running around with different weapons and variety, rather the just DMRs. It just makes me mad that everyone CHOSES to have the DMR when they have so many options. I rarely use the DMR because I see so much of it to be honest.
Does anyone agree? Please 343, nerf the DMR by one shot, or a tad so it makes a little bit of a difference! Maybe it’s a little too strong when people start resorting to it on close quarters maps?
6 shot weapon. That’s so stupid because the Dmr has the second longest kill time for a rifle. It’s just that it is more accurate. I own DMR players with the Carbine now that I have started using it more. The Carbine has the fastest kill time btw. Carbine>Dmr if you hit all your shots. Lightrifle>Dmr Long range scoped. Battle rifle> Dmr if you hit all ur shots plus an instant kill with 10 percent sheilds left. Idunno man, I don’t think it needs a nerf. Maybe 12 shots instead of 14. I dunno…

I think that the DMR should go back to being like it was in Reach (gasp i know). I know Reach gets a bad rep with the reticule bloom but now that 343 changed it to satisfy us i realize that we were the ones who were wrong. The bloom mechanic made the DMR most effective when you were standing still and crouching. This limited the DMR’s accuracy at close range when the player would move most often. Yes, it added luck into the mix, but only against other DMR users. Automatic weapons would dominate close range encounters, as it should be.
In short, adding back bloom would guarantee that DMRs would be limited to long range encounters.

I wasn’t surprised by that Document proving that the DMR is not overpowered. In most cases if I bring a DMR into a CQ fight, I’m likely going to end up dead. The way some people are spinning it you would think that people were One Hit Killing someone with the DMR.
The fact is, is that the people complaining are the ones who have been unable to get a feel for the DMR and how to use it’s strengths and cover it’s weaknesses.
well the spreadsheet is obviously a load of -Yoink- because the DMR doesn’t kill slower than the BR, and the thing which makes it OP isn’t its kill time anyways, its OP because it is incredibly easy to use at any range, plus it outranges all the other primaries and can compete with them at close range easily anyway

The only surprise was how innacurate that document is.
I already created a thread about DMR and boltshot weapon balance that has over 108 votes we don’t want this to spam the forums about the same subject, I do agree the DMR is a pain in the -Yoink- weapon. that’s why I created mine, support my thread with more votes by doing so we can start the complaining for weapon damage I have already found videos to show How over power this weapon is.

I know what you’re trying to say and in many ways you’re right. The DMR isn’t overpowered, but only on paper.
The reason the DMR dominates is not because of it’s raw stats, but because of the way it works. It has unrivaled accuracy (second only to the sniper) and instant shots. It’s true, as proven by the spreadsheet, that the LR is more powerful, but its unfortunate projectile mechanics make it difficult to use when compared to the DMR.

LOL this is funny how this is so inaccurate for Time per kill I have found a lot videos in youtube with different times for kills, I will be willing to post every one of the videos to show it nobody really knows the right time

You can’t believe everything you read on the Internet kid.
That was a load of crap.
Since we’re going to start bringing things from around the web check this out: Weapon comparison video
I love halo 4 I promise guys, but man, the DMR is just a tad too powerful D: I don’t like being a complaining whiny guy, but c’mon guys think, it is a little over powered and you know it. Way too many people use it, just like I stated about close quarter situations. I’ve seen people have a DMR and an assault rifle, yet they use the DMR in a hallway? It’s obvious why they chose the DMR -_- it’s excellent in long range maps, but it should somehow have a disadvantage in close quarter situations.

No no no no, I’m excellent with the DMR don’t get me wrong, I whoop serious butt on matchmakingon long range maps such as ragnorak. It’s just people choosing to use it on CQC maps is what I have a problem with it. Obviously it’s too powerful if people are using a long range weapon… On a close quarter map.
