Good or bad?
Personally, I find it bad, because the BR should serve the purpose already. The BR is a long ranged accuracy weapon, just like the DMR. Bad enough that the BR got brought back to 5 shots, apparently.
And the accuracy on the DMR, along with bloom, was lowered. The BR, known as the ‘skill’ weapon of Halo, has basically been reduced to a pile of trash in comparison to the DMR, with a faster ROF, and very similar recoil and accuracy.
BR > DMR on shorter range
DMR > BR on longer range
Bloom doesn’t affect the DMR that much, it only makes you not spam the trigger.
> The DMR was single shot with bloom. However, the bloom reset much faster than the DMR in Halo Reach. I didn’t have to pace my shots much at all… and I didn’t feel like the bloom made me miss shots all that often
Regardless of mechanics, skill will prevail in the end.
Oh and i’ll be using BR again since the DMR is boring (it’s skill based but so is the BR)
Good. It’s about time 343 ditched the one-weapon sandbox. It’s not balanced to have the BR useful at all ranges. I find it great that the BR is close range, and the DMR is long range. That’s how a sandbox should work, each weapon has it’s own niche.

Agreed. Those who are blind or not analyzing the balance of Halo’s sandbox won’t notice the problems under Bungie. Reach just had more problems with balance thanks to AAs.
Even up to Reach, it was still a one gun game (DMR where it used to be BR) while the rest of the sandbox was just asking to be stripped down by MLG (and look what happened; MLG took away all the useless guns). While i am saying stop liking your ARs or Repeaters, you have to look at how more much useful the DMR is to those weapons.
While i have no problem playing under utility starts (most competitive players would say there is nothing wrong with one gun), it would be nice if the rest of the sandbox was viable for the first time Halo’s history. Otherwise, there is no point in creating weapons that just take up disk space, rather have that put to some other cool feature otherwise.
