I don’t understand how they release a game in this state and ask for player feedback, only to ignore that player feedback because of the balance between competitive and “fun”. While at the same time only offering one ranked playlist, which’s ranking system is fundamentally broken and does not take rank into account while match making games. How can both of those things be true at the same time? It blows my mind.
From reading the forums and watching some videos on youtube it seems like that are only kind of listening to the professional Halo community?
I’m not positive, but I know a dev from 343 responded very rude to someone complaining about the desync issues on twitter. Said dev used the war in Ukraine to try and shame the disgruntled Halo fan, hoping by shaming him it would make him gruntled or something. I do not think it worked.
The drive of this game seems to be to separate as many people from their money as possible in the most calculated way. It’s is just a product they can’t figure out how to market, instead of a game made by passionate people. Both can lead to big profits.
have you watched 343 vs the world on YT
Yup. Then deleted the tweet and gave a non-apology and how he is disappointed at how toxic the community is.
Which, granted, this community is toxic, but the lack of communication (and honesty in the communication) only helped this community fester.
343 created a lack-luster game that allowed doubt to form, said they would be open, went radio silent, community went toxic, 343 faced toxicity with more toxicity, community went more toxic, more radio silence, one dev acts independently and adds more toxicity, community calls it out, more radio silence, community finally gets a glimpse of what’s ahead which is more dissappointment, toxicity continues to grow. 343 is shocked this could happen.
At this point I think everyone is tired. Many people on here are grasping at straws not to repeat themselves. Many people are repeating themselves (I’ll never stop talking about Zeta Sky). Many have just called it quits and moved onto other games. Only reason I’m here is just to see if someone from 343 breaks the silence and finally gets as open and honest as ID Software was with Doom Eternal.
BTW this dev got shifted in 343 from Community Support/ Engagement Coordinator to Associate Producer.
I don’t know what that entails though, which is why I didn’t call it a promotion. I’m avoiding the name just so I don’t send people on another witch hunt on something that has long since died out. I left enough info that if anyone is still that mad, then you can do the research yourself.
Agreed, and thanks for more insight into the twitter feud.
They lied at times and were misleading as well with a lot of stuff when they communicated. At times the communication felt patronizing. I only come back to forums to see if the attitudes about the game have changed, and I haven’t noticed nearly as many people rushing to defend 343 as there were a few weeks after launch.
Sketch was just talking about the job openings on reddit.
You were looking in the wrong place.
Shut up and buy some cat ears.
but i want a foxtail on my spartan to match the ears
I wasn’t talking about Ske7ch.
The guy made a tweet about how he was offered to go from community support to associate producer since January and it is now official.
I didn’t talk about job openings. I was talking about one specific employee the whole time.
I was referring to this quote.
The assumptions are getting to the point where they’re contradicting each other now.
Use a spike grenade instead
Sorry, that is my mistake.
Sadly that’s an issue of the devs using every other webside except their actual website for news.
MCC no problem. They take it to the news tab or forums.
TV Show, no problem. News tab has us covered.
Infinite news: Youtube streams, Twitter, Reddit, Washington Post! Who knows where we will say something next!
