Are these two separate race’s? Or is the Prometheans and the Didact the same race, only corrupted?
This is what I love about the halo series, is that 343/Bungie always know how to mix it up a little, always getting their fans to ask questions about the game, The depth of the halo series is what I love, I remember playing it younger and just running and shooting, and never really paying attention to the game itself.
And I noticed that as I got older, my brother read the books, told me about them and I understood halo more because of it, and loved it even more.
I have no idea if the Prometheans and the Didact are two new race’s, but it will be interesting how this story will be foretold.
The Didact is a Promethean; he was sort of a leader for the Prometheans - a long time ago, even before the forerunner Halo books, he was part of the Forerunner council, as a representative for the warrior-class.
The Prometheans are just high-level warrior Forerunners - think of them as special forces, like golden Elites.
The AI robot creatures that we were fighting against in the E3 trailer were combat robots that were used by Prometheans.
Generally, the Prometheans themselves would battle from within mechs, etc - one of their main mechs / vehicles were War Sphinxes, which were large, powerful and also had a sort of AI in them as well.
Prometheans: The Forerunners have a class system. Prometheams are elites of the Warrior-Servant class, if I’m not mistaken. Like Spartans and and Marines of the UNSC. There are the Warriors (Marines), but within that, there are ODSTs(Prometheans) and further up, Spartans(Full-rate). The Forerunners had other classes too though. ONI would be the Lifeworkers and so on.
Didact: The Didact was an individual who held an extremely high status in the Forerunner society as supreme commander of the entire Forerunner military. He was the lover of the Librarian. The Didact was a full-rate Promethean of the Warrior-Servant.
Also, there’s something called Google. And Wiki. Use it.

the prometheans are pretty much the forrunner military and Didact was one of the leaders of the Prometheans
The Didact is a Promethemean for the Forerunner it is a class type and the Didact is one of the jobs a Promethean can accuire. The Prothethean Kights are mear AIs that guard the planet. That help?
