So, I was thinking, what if The Didact and Cortana are still alive?
I’m asking this because The Didact my have been composed and is being “stored” somewhere else. Or he may have fallen into a slipspace portal, which would mean he is still alive.
Also Cortana may still be alive. What I think is her many fragments that were uploaded into the Didact’s ship are actually in a sort of “external hard-drive,” along with all of the other composed humans. This external hard-drive may end up being the artifact Crimson Team found in Spartan Ops.
the didact is alive becuase he is the one who is talking at the end of the game after the credits roll which is the Legendary ending, as for cortana anything is possible when it comes to Halo
Consider changing the title. Some people haven’t completed the Halo 4 campaign and don’t wan’t to be spoiled. I’ve already completed it, but I’m just saying.
The Librarian took and made a copy of Cortana, probably to fix and make improvements upon.
The Didact’s end felt cheap to me, so I’m pretty sure he’ll come back somehow. Maybe the voice in John’s head will slowly take over and at some point John 117 will become the new Didact.
Cortana is pretty much dead, at least I think so… but who knows.
The Didact, I highgly doubt he’s dead, he has taken unarmores Lightrifle shots to the chest and only passing out. And when he fell, there was a slipspace rupture down, so he could be anywhere.
I don’t believe either of them are dead. Lets face it, the Didact is supposed to be this big bad forerunner military commander. He has survived a war that lasted who knows how many years, I’m sure with forerunner technology he would survive something as simple as a grenade.
I also think Cortana will return at some point. Maybe not in Halo 5, but perhaps the Composer would be used in reverse to create her a physical body (or at least restore her unable to go into rampancy). Possible ending to this new trilogy, 343?

there is no halo without cortana: when you crash on requiem there is a radio tape next to the dying elite that lets you hear dr halsey saying stuff about cortana, saying there is a recessive gene in her make up, I think if they replicate her she will have kept the some of who she is because of her being made from actual brain tissue, it would be like her experiences would have been telepathically transferred to her new version.
“Falling to an unseen and only implied death” is the oldest trick in the book when it comes to temporarily removing villains from the scene. I can all but guarantee that the Didact will be back.
Cortana, eh, depends on how 343 is feeling. Halsey is still alive so she could conceivably create a Cortana 2.0 for Chief. Or, yeah, she could have been duped by the Librarian. It’ll be an -Yoink–pull either way, but we’ll just have to wait and see.
> Well the Didact got a grenade shoved inside of his chest, so I’m not too sure if he’s alive…
With the kind of armor he wears, and the fact that he was able to force throw MasterChief in such a way that Yoda himself would have shed a tear; I highly doubt one of those pulse grenades would be enough to kill him.
Considering that he fell through a slipspace rupture . . . he’s more than likely out there somewhere. I thought he might have gotten composed, but reading a previous comment made me remember that he couldn’t be composed.
Considering that he is immune to the Composer and the very thought of killing the main antagonist at the beginning of the trilogy is kind of absurd. He’s alive, that’s for sure.
