The Didact and cold sores...

With the way the Didacts fanged teeth are you would think he could easily get cold sores often right? I don’t know if I’m just odd to think this or what?

Right?

I thought it was weird that he had fangs at all. Forerunners don’t eat meat, and it’s not like he’s gonna bite someone as an attack, so I don’t get it, unless it’s just for show.

You’re thinking too hard!
Then again i wouldn’t be surprised with fangs like that!

Really? That’s pretty interesting. What do they eat then? Either way I’m sure the teeth are just to make him look BA.

Well according to the Forerunner books, they don’t like to kill animals just for consumption, so they are basically Vegetarians.

OP doesn’t realize that Cold sores originate from the -Yoink!- virus. It has nothing to do the physical traits of a body.

It’s like saying “Do you think the shape of his head would give him -Yoink!-?” Sounds ridiculus right? Well that’s how you sound to me.

Forerunners are fully capable of eating meat, as demonstrated by the extra-galactic primitive Forerunners of the LMC. Modern Forerunners only abstain out of respect for Mantle, so it’s very possible for them to have fangs.

Didact’s fangs are a result of a mutation designed to be immune to the Composer and the Flood (didn’t work on the Flood), he didn’t have them before, at least not such large ones.

It just seems as pressed teeth against lips would cause some kind of infection. Perhaps chapped lips at the very least… Something… lol It’s almost 8 AM and I haven’t slept at all tonight. I’m not thinking straight.

The fangs and the hair are a result of the Didact experimenting on himself to try and beat the flood, watch the terminals

Indeed.
He’d more likely be prone to angular cheilitis which is commonly mistaken for cold sores (I should know, I get it quite often).

Yeah that’s what I meant, they can eat meat but choose not to because of the Mantle etc. So I just figured since they had been around so long with those beliefs they wouldn’t have such carnivorous teeth/fangs. But that is true with the mutations, as far as I know, not much info is out about their mutations, so it’s hard to say why it would make him grow fangs like that.
