The Didact alive, kind of. SPOILERS

Their are three theories I have:

  1. This assumption is based on what I have read in Cryptum (circa page 70), War Sphinxes (possibly seekers as well) kept a mental template of their carriers.

Now what if the War Sphinx(or Seeker) in the trailer used to be the Ur-Didact/IsoDidact’s?
It’s fairly possible given the orange glow in the eyes.

  1. Another more insane theory is that upon the death of the IsoDidact(as Ur-didact got shred to pieces) a Durance was made (a memory storage of the complete person)and that this (just like Chaka/spark) was put inside of a machine (like the War Sphinx/Seeker).

3.Of course it would make less sense with the IsoDidact since he has compassion towards humans (then again Spark tried to kick our -Yoink- as well) and his death is not confirmed, but who says that War Sphynx is an enemy, for as far we know he could be guarding a cryptum where IsoDidact remains.

Halo Cryptum (pages 47,48,138)

Following the theories that this place is the Ark, that War Sphinx/Seeker could actually be guarding the tomb of Mendicant Bias.

Mendicant Bias knows about the Flood, the Precursor connection, everything we need to jumpstart the Precursor part of this story.

As to why the thing is Promethean orange, perhaps orange is just a natural Forerunner attack color. The Ur-Didact adopted it completely in his corrupt state.

SPOILERS:

The iso-didact sacrificed himself to activate the halo array. He’s dead. Ur-Didact lived and survived in the battle cryptum in requiem, who we obviously fought in Halo 4.

Librarian is also dead, being on earth with surviving humans when the halo array fired.

> Mendicant Bias knows about the Flood, the Precursor connection, everything we need to jumpstart the Precursor part of this story.

That’s why I’m gagging for the Ark theory to be true!

Also:

Flood ARE Precursors, just a reincarnation of them.

The greater Ark was destroyed at the end of the forerunner flood war, and humans basically blew up the lesser ark at the end of halo 3.

The Eleventh Hour reports confirm that the Lesser Ark is still, to a considerable extent, intact.

No, the Silentium Epilogue reveals that the IsoDidact and a group of other Forerunners survived. They have a feast with the surviving humans on the Ark to mourn the death of the old galaxy and mark the beginning of the new before going on their Great Journey. At the end of Primordim, Chakas states that he has found them.

You make a fair point on the possibility of attack color.
But didn’t we destroy the lesser arc where Mendicant Bias was stored (possibly that we didn’t but hey Cortana said that the arc was gone)?
On the other hand that could have been only a (small) part of him that got lost.

Edit:Reply above me just solved my question, the lesser Arc is a-OK.

Incorrect.

The IsoDidact activated the Array from the Ark. He is “alive”.

He may not have survived the last 100,000 years because of age or simply left the Ark to go somewhere else (exile).

The Librarian we knew of is dead, yes. But from Halo 4 we know she left her memories in certain areas as AI-type constructs, and that Chakas believes he knows where to find her. It is possible he is referring to the newest Lifeshaper, Chant-to-Green.

No he isn’t, listen to the Rebirth Narrative which takes place after Silentium it confirms he survived

There is a narrative after Silentium that shows he is alive after the Halo Array activation,He was not left at the Ark he went to Earth with his old friend for farewells.

Was teh grav hammer designed from Forerunner tech? During battle of Reach, it had orange lights. During battle of Earth and Installation 00, it had blue lights. And now it has orange lights again.
