The death of the Community

Long story short Halo is in two predicaments

  1. Halo 5 will kill of the minority of the competitive community that act as the majority
  2. The minority of the competitive community will kill Halo 5 thus ultimately ending Halo as a viable Franchise

Nothing more, nothing less. One of these will happen, believe it will.

At times like this, here we as a community stand with different views, different opinions. Yet we never take the opinion or state of mind of others into consideration, as Plato states “You have your way. I have My way. As for the right way, the correct way, the one way. It does not exist.” -Plato

It actually saddens to see like this, people I thought were Halo fans say stuff like (“Halo should of died at 3”) and (“I want Halo to end”) <------------- This isn’t someone that was brought up playing Halo as a fan, but rather a someone playing Halo as a means of playing a game.

I want to use another quote and read it carefully, “Intensely selfish people are always very decided as to what they wish. They do not waste their energies in considering the good of others.” - How much longer are these Halo 1-3 fans going to be playing Halo for? And do there selfish acts stunt the forwardness of Halo because they want to engage in a game that caters to their needs.

Like I said, its one or the other
Halo 5 will turn away the Halo 1-3 fans (not that they are the bad ones)
OR
These fans will be the final blow to the Halo franchise as a whole.

Call me crazy but I’ve seen it all before with SOCOM and all the rest. This will be no different, but how do you guys think it will turn?

All the reason unfortunately
Personally I love Halo 5. Just my opinion.

I believe both of your predications are radical. These forums may always have fans butting heads with each other, but the topics and debates here do not represent the entirety of the Halo community. When Halo 5 launches, there will be a competive community (at least in the beginning. I cannot be sure if the competive community will maintain itself). People will enjoy, hate, and play Halo 5. After this installment I am darn sure another title will come a couple of years down the line. Halo will not die and the competive community will exist as it has always existed.

I though the same thing about all the others. You dont believe it until you see it, all it takes is the loud minority. I believe Halo 5 will grab a new audience If Im honest, but if 343 gets anymore bad press for doing what they do, yes It will not look pretty.

It won’t die any time soon but it won’t get any better either by the looks of things. Seems 343i have us stuck in situation where there unsure what to do. They really to delay the game, rework everything then maybe have another beta next year since 343i really need to sort out the game design, if the h5 fails like h4 did then a lot more people will be hesitant about trusting 343i

Just wondering, what do you mean by rework?

Well… i think the big crash for Halo was H4, 500.000 to 30.000 in four months. 343 knows and we now have a beta one year before the launch.
What happen now? We have two bunchs here, hipsters VS fashion victims.
Now 343 must choose a bunch.

Indeed.
