Now that we know Halo is going the COD route it should be obvious that the last bastion of Halo gameplay is on Halo 3. By the end of this year I fear Halo 3 may die with Halo 4 and Black Ops coming to put the final nail in the coffin. I will continue to play Halo 3 until they shut the servers down I’m just curious how many people will continue to play. Give up any hope of Halo 4 being like a Halo game, it has already been confirmed it will be more like COD…
Please lend me your time machine, Halo 4 sounds like so much fun!
Since when was it confirmed that it would be another COD.
Hey I’ll continue playing Halo 3 and the other Halo games till the shut the servers like you. However; if 343 makes more Halo remakes like they did with Halo CE, then Halo 3 wouldn’t be gone forever. So just wait if they’ll make it and “Never Forget” what Bungie created.
343i says it will feel like Halo, and we’ll have to just trust them on that. I do, and so should you. A perfect example is Halo:CEA.
They show that they are about innovation (graphics, remade maps) and also care about the game feeling like Halo, and giving you options to do so (flashback graphics, remade AND classic maps, skulls)
They’re also bring back the DMR and BR BOTH, to appeal to both types of fans.
You have to look at the little things
343i seems to be going down the right path, so don’t assume things.
Besides, it’s about time that Halo fans admit CoD has great ideas that could benefit Halo’s gameplay without completely changing it. There’s a reason why it’s the top FPS toady, you know.
As someone who has played both the Halo games and CoD games and is a fan of both, I’m not going to worry too much about what 343 does with Halo 4. I will wait til it comes out, I get to play it, and then I’ll decide whether they made a mistake or didn’t. They have a great template to work with given the campaign and MP that Bungie created over the course of the series and would like to continue to see them follow the path laid out in front of them.
If Halo 4 comes out and is a dud, then this post is likely true, but I don’t really see that happening. I look forward to seeing what 343 does with the series going forward.
> Now that we know Halo is going the COD route
Stopped reading. You Idiots need to shut up with this Call of Duty stuff. The amount of pre-judgement is extreme on here.
You do that.
I’ll be busy blasting through a new and mysterious world called Requeim, beating on dangerous ancient enemies, training intensly on Infinity’s holo-deck, and kicking Yoink! in free, weekly Spartan Ops missions. Halo 4 has so much potential with the story (campaign and Spartan Ops), and now has a lot of possibilities with a story-driven multiplayer.
I just can’t see how people look at Halo 4 and see CoD.
If you do research, you’ll notice that a majority of these new changes… that seem similar to some things in CoD, are being balanced and fitted to suit Halo 4 and the developer’s new visions. They aren’t mindlessly ripping ideas and throwing them in… as many seem to think. Things are being changed, upgraded, enhanced, shaped, balanced, and fitted as best they can to Halo 4. You will not play Halo 4 and feel CoD.
You think that making another “halo 4 is COD forum” in the halo 3 thread makes you special don’t you. Halo 4 is not going to be like COD. Honestly, people hear custom load-oats and think “oh its COD” and don’t even do the research to find out that you can’t spawn with power weapons in custom load-outs, just basic and balanced weapons. Spartan Ops sounds nothing like spec ops other than in the name. 343 said that it will play like halo and that you actually have to play it first. The game isn’t out and ignorant forum goers like you insist on giving up on the franchise and comparing halo 4 to a game it won’t be like.
