I have been thinking, if Master Chief is to die at the end of Infinite, who would take his place as the main character? Personally I believe the arbiter fits this role, but I’m thinking of Bungie arbiter, who had WAYYYYY better character development, who do you believe fits the main character role?
Nobody at the moment I still don’t get everyone who thinks the arbiter is still a main character in this series.
Hes the current ruler of Sangheilios hes way too busy looking after his people.

I don’t see that transition going down well at all if that happened. + side would be that 343 can play it bit more loose in the same way now that Disney can with Star wars now that Skywalker/Master chief Saga has ended gives the creative room to start over.
the ending/continued story gotta be good if they would even attempted something like that.

bro that won’t go down well. Don’t forget chief is a simbol not only a green guy who shoots ank kills aliens, however if they wanna start over they could start a new spartan

I don’t think the Master Chief will die seeing as cyro-sleep is always a valid option. I could certainly see the Arbiter taking over and/or Blue Team and Fireteam Osiris uniting as one team. It’d certainly open up the possibility for bigger co-op campaign experiences.
That’s a tough one. While I have my doubts on John-117 being killed off anytime soon, I wonder who could take his place. I mean he technically isn’t the best Spartan-II, just the luckiest but his status in universe and to us in the Halo Nation community is a little irreplaceable. I almost saw potential in Spartan-IV, Gabriel Thorne getting his character pushed or maybe the recent redevelopment in Edward Buck’s character or Jameson Locke since he had a little more humanity in Halo Bad Blood for forgiving Michael for something as drastic as betrayal.

If Chief dies, 343 dies…you have your warning.
If Master Chief were to die, I would say Agent Locke or Buck, but no one really cares about them as much. It just wouldn’t be Halo without the Chief. It wouldn’t be Xbox without Halo. It wouldn’t be an Xbox without the X. You know what I mean.
Side note: I would be interested in a game or a book, or a movie that took place after the death of the Chief. However if they do do that, don’t make it canon. It’s fiction. They don’t have to have the Chief die. They could come up with some stupid theory like “super soldier immortality serum” and I wouldn’t care.
What if they somehow make an AI out of Chief like Cortana.
