The days of Halo 2 are gone, maybe we should let go

Halo 5 is an amazing shooter, and a good Halo game. Now it is not Halo 2, or 3, or CE. THIS IS NOT A BAD THING. Change was bound to happen, be it by Bungie had they stayed, or by 343i. Halo 5 has brought balance to the mulitplayer while delivering a lack luster campaign, as odd as it is, the game is still one of the best in the franchise. After playing 53 hours of Halo 5, it shows that the game is different but not bad, there is no longer a need to want Halo 2. Do we really want Halo 2, or do we want the community of Halo 2?

Reason why people are upset is because the sequel to their favorite game plays completely different and they can’t just go back and play the older games because the servers are either non-existent or buggy as hell.

If they just rereleased H2 every year no one would be happy. You simply can’t please everyone, but everyone feels entitled.

my big argument is i play halo 5 and then i try to play halo 3, the controls are so messed up. they should have never removed classic halo control schemes just added the new stuff along.

I’d say more of the community from Halo 2 and 3. We just have to build it back up, if we want the community to be like it is again, a good amount of us needs to stand up and welcome them. While the growing pains from 4 and on wards have been many, it’d be foolish for those who love the series to simply let it wither and die. That doesn’t mean that they have to keep buying the newest Halo or Req packs, just invite randoms to customs for MCC or make something in forge etc. I know I will try doing this soon because I’d hate to see the community just simply tear itself apart.

This is a great post. I’ve been watching this forum disect every last pixel of this game since it launched and it’s been sad to read. YES, Halo has been very different since 343 took over. I loved Halo 2 and I was really good at it, Halo 3 too. I’m not very good at Halo 5 but I love it. I miss the simpler days of course but it’s still Halo.

I haven’t heard anyone talk about how amazing the score is. I think they did an incredible job. Thing is, I’m not an engineer or designer and I’m not on the concept team so I have no idea what it was like to build this game. I do really enjoy playing it though. There are enough nostalgic tones and concepts to this game to make me feel like I’m still in the Halo universe.

I’m getting old man, can’t really keep up with the young energy drink infused gaming culture anymore but still love me some Halo. Been playing it since day one. My K/D is horrendous!! Great post…Now hate on Waypoint!
