The Dark Side of 343 industries (They don't care about Achievement and Progression System eg: SR152)

u have to report it and plus report how this is not u grinded for when u report the issue.

TLDR; don’t advertise the wrong reward, but it’s the least of the issues I want to be fixed in the game.

In fairness to 343, when the reward was first announced they did tell us not to expect something too great.
What I don’t like is being shown a coating that was meh but still unique enough to pop against the others, then being replaced by a more dull and lacklustre version. But hey, go do the other things with our marketing partners to get special coatings that look much better right?
Now it is gonna be one of those things that will be extremely low on the priority list because of everything else around the game that needs a rework and I am okay with that. There are other decent coatings that I can use for now, the game itself is fun and if they keep adding good content, we’ll be playing for a while.

The weapon skin of Watchdog looks incredible, but the armor looks very dirty and a shade darker than what was first revealed. it was presented as being very shiny and clean like the HCS skins we have now, but upon release it’s just coated in mud and it lacks the shine that would make it truly stand out. I think your post is a little…passionate about it, but I do agree. I hope it’s just a graphical issue because like I said the weapon version and the coating symbol when choosing both look shiny and clean and don’t indicate any dirt.

You definetly only spent money on Halo 5 for personal greed, not as a primary way to get 152 so please don’t slander the game by making it seem like it cost money to get max rank. Also, 343 is on vacation for the Holidays which is why they haven’t been responding.

What the hell are you talking about. I spent money on the game to support HCS and 343i cause I love halo. Don’t tell me what I didn’t my money on. And yeah one part of it was to help boost through the king as grind.

Get outta of here with the assumptions and bs. You clearly don’t know what your talking about

Check your redemption history on Waypoint. I believe it should show a ‘Guardian’s Bounty’ redemption.

If not, contact support with all the details.

Calm yourself, goofball. I was simply stating that it was not necessary to spend money to get 152, and your post made it sound like you believed that was the case. I bought stuff too.
Maybe you should get outta here with that hostile--Yoink!- attitude like I owe you something. I can’t even make a comment out here without you calling it bs. You baboon.

I maybe said my reply a little weird. What I meant to say was, if you or anyone spent money in Halo 5 it was for the Req’s, DLC or HCS skins, but getting 152 has nothing to do with money. Spending money on Halo and being “forced” to do so is a big controversial topic around Infinite and 343 right now, I just didn’t want people to think we staright up purchased our status as SR152.

You said I purchase packs for personal greed when I simply told you I wanted to support HCS and 343i I got to 151 without gold boost packs. Yes you don’t need it but I also didn’t want to spend way more time than I already was to get to 152. Heck I took a long break after 151 because I didn’t think I’d get it.

I definitely earned my 152 and no way did I “buy it”. You came off hostile towards me saying that it was out of greed and I simply told you that isn’t true and that it was bs.

Sorry if you didn’t like what I said but don’t assume why ppl spend their money when you be surprised why.

Purchasing for support and purchasing for personal gain are two sides of the same coin. Most folks purchase in-game content for greed, for example buying a $20 Gold pack, no matter which way you slice it it’s greed and personal gain.
Now, as far as buying the HCS packs to support them and your teams, you and I are in the same boat as I did the same thing. Both of us were assholes in that transaction, I apologize for the miswording.

That’s actually a good point. I know I earned my rank legit but a lot of might have boosted with loot box’s so that would be a lot of money down the drain for a misleading product. That’s actually a really good point since it basically means that someone could have been spent an insane amount on something they didn’t actually get and that would be technically false advertising.

You know what i appreciate that but it never was meant towards greed in any way, I just wanted to support them while also getting a little boost on the home stretch of 152. Apologies if i came at you the wrong way. Sorry for that

Thank you. This worked for me. :+1:

The gun coatings look cool but the armor coating is underwhelming.

The shiny version of the suit looks much better in the Inside Infinite article, hopefully 343 can make the update to meet the requests of the community. :crossed_fingers:

indeed there were a lot of people who spent insane amount to show there support to 343 for making halo infinite and then there were a lot of people who were veteran players who wanted to show that they were part of halo franchise’s journey by getting SR152. But in the end no matter if u spent money or not its the amount of time and energy it took for people to get close to 152 which was insane (Check my states u will understand my pain, now imaging the people who spent a lott of money as well with it)

The part were this becomes a big issue is when 343 didn’t keep there promise and the fact that Halo 5 was basically pay to win model like Star Wars Battlefront 2. (how u may ask, the drop rate is increased from buying Gold req pack. If u want legendary boosters u can either buy it for 5$ or get it through gold req packs but the rate at which u get legendary boosters were scuffed to 100 packs to get 1 sometimes).
I wouldn’t mind if someone bought there way to SR152. u wanna know why, they experienced the same insane grind like i did even if they spent less time.

For Example My state: 163d 19h 20m [= 3931 HOURS 20 MIN] played 3 years on Halo 5 straight after launch. even then i didn’t make it. I had to come back start my grind again from 2020 onwards.

My Friend who spent money from all the way from lvl 20 to 152 : 61d 10h 37m [= 1474 HOURS 37 MIN]

From this u can see the issue here right. it doesn’t matter if u spend a lot of money or not, this is how bad SR152 issue is.

I guess the question here is why did you spend hundreds of hours/dollars to grind to SR152?

Was it so you could say you completed the game? If so, everything should be fine.

Was it so you could receive the shiny Watchdog armor coating in Halo Infinite? If so, I agree they should change it to look like the one people were originally shown a year ago.

However, it was only ever meant to be a token gesture to recognise people’s efforts. I think what people got was pretty good considering (but agree the shiny armor would look much better):

Legendary Mk VII Armor Coating ‘Watchdog’
Legendary Mk V [B] Armor Coating ‘Watchdog’
Legendary Yoroi Armor Coating ‘Watchdog’

Legendary BR15 Battle Rifle Weapon Coating ‘Watchdog’
Legendary MA40 Assault Rifle Weapon Coating ‘Watchdog’
Legendary MK50 Sidekick Weapon Coating ‘Watchdog’

Legendary Nameplate ‘Eld’
Legendary Armor Emblem ‘Eld’
Legendary Weapon Emblem ‘Eld’
Legendary Vehicle Emblem ‘Eld’

But do you really think people spent hundreds of hours/dollars just to get the armor coating in a different game? I’m not so sure.

I don’t like the idea of a really cool skin being locked behind the one of the worst halo experiences ever.

I got two 152 groups of 100 each. Trust me, everyone spent a lot of money. we are all from the old gen halo who likes to do Laso or something like that. SR152 is the same. We grinded games like halo 3 to get Recon Armor by getting all of the Vidmaster Achievements or Hayabusa Armor by unlock all skulls.
As u mention above
[" Was it so you could say you completed the game? If so, everything should be fine"
"Was it so you could receive the shiny Watchdog armor coating in Halo Infinite? If so, I agree they should change it to look like the one people were originally shown a year ago.]
its basically all of the above we did it for multiple reasons. I don’t know how to explain it but we like these kind of stuff but 343 did switch and bait tactic. Made it feel like worthless. Not a single one from SR152 like the skin and emblem other than weapon skin even then for the time, energy and money we spent that weapon skin should have been a universal skin instead. Its just that when they announced that there would be unique reward but dont expect too much and showed what we were going to get we blindly believed them. which is our fault.
wat we want is that uniqueness for wat we grinded. we are not asking too much just fix the skin or make it look better for wat its worth for the grind and make that weapon universal. (Dont even start with that emblem, its trash)

Sorry that my explanation is too big but its suks bro the way they did it. im not just complaining about our issue. im also complaining about how we completed campaign and got nothing thats worth 60$ for buying the game (They can keep lying to themself but we paid 60$ for the whole experience, it would make sense if people who are just there for multiplayer which is free have to buy stuff but wat about us who literally paid 60$ for the whole game. Some people might say ohh its for the campaign not multiplayer mode. Biiiiiiii they just did that people who play on pc and dont want to spend 60$, they made it free entry for them. That doesnt mean they can skim us who has been playing Halo since the beginning, always paid 60$ for the entire customization, campaign and multiplayer mode)

Yes, I did think the emblem looked disappointing.

That’s one thing that I almost never see brought up and I try to but to a lesser extent since the armor coating is a much bigger problem. The emblem looks bad too. The eld symbol is great but the long part of the emblem is just a zoomed in portion of the same symbol, no design or anything. And the color options are absolutely atrocious. I don’t know who picked those colors but they all look gross. The only ones that look ok are the default like pinkish/beige white and the all black and white. And they are both so plain. Remove highlighter yellow, tropical pink, and diarrhea green and give us some actual good colors to pick. Also half the colors make the backdrop darker. Why??
