The Dark Side of 343 industries (They don't care about Achievement and Progression System eg: SR152)

Nope, disagree sry.

Most of the community gave up on 5, while we stuck with it. Played the crap out of it. We deserve that armor, the armor we were shown.
If the fix took weeks, yeah I’d see your point. But this is a coating. Fixing some colours and lighting. Were talking a couple hours, a day tops.
Desync and none of the larger issues that the community has with infinite are going to be fixed in a day, but this could be one thing off of that very long list.

It could give them a W in the string of L’s they’ve had lately.

My friend the point of my reply was that 152 will not be enough to bring many 152s back not that it should NOT be fixed, but your other points are still worth addressing. First where I agree with you that Ideally fixing a coating should take less than a single work shift to accomplish.

But this is a coating. Fixing some colours and lighting. Were talking a couple hours, a day tops.

Yes this is true,…

yet it has not happened and I truly believe this is more rationally a sign that 343 has either made an impossible to modify game or even more likely that the greater issue are so great that they require literally ALL HAND ON DECK, compared to the alterantive that 343 is intentionally trying to PO its H5 fans.

Given this likely pulling even a single hand away for a day to work on coating means 1 more day without those other issues being fixed and that is far more important than being able to show off our insane commitment.

We deserve that armor, the armor we were shown.

Hey preaching to the choir, we worked and were promised somehting and given something else. Seems straight forward that we got screwed. But the screwing already happened and lets be honest its not even the top 10 most offensive broken promises in infinite.

Most of the community gave up on 5, while we stuck with it. Played the crap out of it. We deserve that armor, the armor we were shown.

Yea we stuck with a sinking ship, some of us out of obsession and very few of us out of passion. But this does not make us any better or more deserving than the rest of the community, and when it comes to the current game that we are all sharing…its just freaking broken man, like it doesnt even operate as a basic game in the modern sense so what’s the point of even showing off on this broken title?

I mean with Recon or the Haunted helmet when I got them it was very fun because the game was popular full of social players that would call it out, knowing they’d never go for it themselves they thought it was even cooler to see someone who had it and I remember getting many shout outs or players inviting their friends to the lobby to see the Recon player or the Inheritor in the crowd.

But nowadays with the sweaty and enimic state of Infinites community I dont see any such similar banter arising or even the same pride that came from the achievement in regards to proving ourselves in popular games vs simply sticking with a game “that most the community gave up on” years prior as you put it.

If they did fix our coating before the other things I know not only would I not get the same pleasure as I would in a thriving and popular community, but that the community that is left may not only not appreciate my armor but see it as yet another sign that 343 wont work on anything except to promote their past title while thie game whithers and dies.

And so,

It could give them a W in the string of L’s they’ve had lately.

I dont think this is correct. It wouldn’t even qualify as a W or many of the other 152s I grinded with because we are so over trying to show ourselves of on a broken game by wearing an armor that at most signified an unhealthy obsessions with the single most controversial halo title prior to infinite. Not only that but it could turn into a further L when it fails to satisfy 152’s with nothing more to look forward to and aggrevating justfiably impatient players waiting for infnite to be fixed

Like where is the pride anymore really? what is the point of showing off if there is no one there to care and those that do just see it as yet another symbol of seperation in the community?

Still not absolutely saying that it shouldnt be done if it really were that easy (which i get it, it SHOULD be), but just trying to explain that it will do virtually nothing to improve community moral and has an equal if not greater chance of decreasing it to the same miniscule ammount it could increase it.

It’s just not relevant anymore, just like H5 hadn’t been for years prior to infinite, just as the entire franchise of Halo is becoming under 343. It’s all very sad but when I reflect on my grievences there are so many that Watchdog doesnt even render in my mind anymore.

I agree with a lot of what youre saying.
But its just not about fixing something for a game im not likely to play
Its about fulfilling a promise to the community that did reach 152
Yeah, i know 343 has promised a lot, to fix a lot, etc
Like coop, forge theater, new xp system, desync
But this shouldve never happened in the first place.
I have 20 152s on my friendslist, and not only do they not play infinite, its like theyve given up on gaming altogether due to just this.
And as for splitting the community, in this case, GOOD
Its supposed to be an award for playing, not buying

Just because they mentioned they’d fix it, definitely doesn’t mean they’re going to, hence the split screen debacle, nice. Idk, maybe like dude above said, maybe they made the game ultra hard to fix things in. I don’t see how that can be the case, since they pump out 343 new armor coatings a week that you can buy. I am genuinely shooketh that nothing has been done yet, I try to get on here once a month or so, just to see if it has. Just take this time to try to find another game worth getting into :frowning:

And to think, you guys were this outraged on December 21st…

So 5 months, well if by the time coatings are cross core, watchdogs hasnt changed, Ill be heavily dissapointed since thatd be the final red flag.

Yeah I think we have a longer wait on our hands. If what mint blitz is saying is true, then they’re pretty much working on the game code from the ground up. Yikes.

I just hope they remember we stayed

I dont even know who mint blitz is, lol.
Link?

You would think this is an easy feel good story to give back to the community.

Here are both versions of the coating for our most loyal of players.

It’s such an easy win for 343.

Yep.
And it might be enough to get some of them back who arent playing now.
Ill reiterate
They play a lot
Some of them actually bought a ton of req packs
Theres only like 5k of us.

Im coming back to this topic, back to this hellscape of broken promises and shattered dreams, but for once Im not here to spit fire at 343i.

I’m mostly here to thank everybody who’s replied in support of me and my fellow Watchdogs, because it really shows me that while 343 may not care, you guys do. Thank you for lending your voice to our silent revolt (Which has almost 8k views by now and I am so damn glad to see that its only burned brighter and brighter instead of burnint out) Thank you, truly. Never forget that you are the player, and the players are what make the magic happen. Sure, in this case we haven’t seen any improvement, and actually that reminds me of a very, very concerning development as far as fixing Watchdog goes.

According to one of my friends, 343i legally CAN’T fix it because of the G2 coating and the fact that there cannot be any other “matte black and red coating”. If this is true, then we just got screwed even harder then I had originally ever spoken about. I had been told it was an Esports skin responsible months ago but that had been a different case with Sentinels, but now G2. My point is, the truth now stares us in the -Yoink!- face on a level that is now TRULY impossible to deny or support. I know this was already painfully obvious but now its to the point that it legitimately hurts.

They only value the marketing and money coatings. There is no more “but they’re doing this well” no. If you think you can get away with letting G2 deny us our redemption, THEN YOU ARE DENYING THE 152 COMMUNITY OUR LITERAL EQUIVALENT OF A VIDEOGAME BIRTHRIGHT FOR A SKIN WHICH CAME OUT AFTER WATCHDOG DID! WERE WE WORTH PURPOSEFULLY IGNORING UNTIL YOU FINALLY FOUND AN EXCUSE YOU COULD CLAIM WAS “LEGALLY BINDING AND WORTH RENDERING A -Yoink!- COLOR PALETTE TO BE EXCLUSIVE TO THIS ONE SKIN WE ONLY ADDED LIKE THIS MONTH?”

Oh well, so much for not ranting at 343 again. My bad, not sorry. They just keep handing me ammunition in the form of MAC rounds with everything I hear about Watchdog to use against them.

To 343,

I know you’ll never see this post in particular, and I know you’ll never care. But even if everything I just said against you in this post is incorrect information, I don’t care. It’s more information then you ever gave us. You didn’t even apologize all that time ago in the season 2 notes. You just tried to push our anger under the rug, but guess what! We’re still here, and we’re not getting any happier with your continued ignorance, denial, and evasive tactics to avoid acknowleding any of us!

One day I really hope you get your act together, because beyond us, the whole community is out there, and they’re hearing more and more about what you’re doing, or rather not doing, every day.

You gave me the best game I’ll ever play in Halo 5, but you broke my heart with the worst gift I’ll ever be insulted with in Halo Infinite. Stop hurting your players and fans, because one day we’re just going to vanish altogether.

Yup, here it is 7 months later, and as expected, no change. Whether 7 days, 7 months, or 7 years, it’ll never get fixed. It’s entirely too late at this point anyway. I did resume going for the LASO cheevos on MCC while waiting on COD MW2 to download. The first time I played Halo at all since January, and all because of this 152 fiasco. Again, I can’t be the only one that this was the final straw about either. Also again, not that the actual long-term players of Halo for 2 decades matters to 343. Rediculous…

I’m holding out hope. I mean, even they acknowledged that the coating wasn’t up to expectations, and theyve been striking out pretty hard since launch on a slew of things.
So when they need a win in the eyes of the community, they’ll fix it, im sure of it.

I dunno man.
They wrote waaaay back they were aware and were going to fix it in season 2.
It could be fixed quick, look at how they pump out paid mtx stuff.
Im not touching infinite till they at least fix this.
I posted in the halo 5 forums that id like to donate my 152 watchdog to someone who doesnt mind it not being what was shown and promised, basically a random good deed.
I uninstalled infinite last year the second they gave away what we all worked and grinded for at the first hcs giveaway. People played for YEARS to get watchdog, to see what we were supposed to get given away at release of infinite.
I uninstalled mcc when og stats werent transferred and they ruined firefight.
I have og reach and halo 3, halo 5 still installed, lol.
Bought mw2, even though ive barely touched it.
343 has repeatedly let the community down, and at this point, its like they have some weird passive aggressive grudge concerning watchdog.

Well atleast the winter update is apparently out, saw it on Twitter, so then I read what that entailed, which obviously doesn’t include the fix, because I mean why would it!? LOLLLLLLLLL
This is so crazy

That should say “they have a passive aggressive grudge against halo in general.” The fact that 343 started hiring ppl “who hate halo” to make halo all those years ago now should tell everyone all they need to know about why halo is constantly the way it is, game after game, under 343, and why they ignore the most dedicated of fans this long, again and again.

At some point ppl gotta come to the realization that things will never change for the better. This is the sad reality of current halo.
