This is what I don’t understand.
People grinding on Halo 5 for months if not years to get the colour white. The colour white!
I bought some new headphones (Razer Kaira’s) and have an awesome grey and green coating. Meanwhile people grinded and got a white coating. Made me laugh so much.
idk, my friend who got a bunch of pringles still didnt get his code so no clue bro. All i know is that its a mess right now at 343. Also i have to ask my friend (Diff guy btw) if he got the rockstar skin or not, he stopped play halo after dec so no clue about that status.
The pringles thing you had to take a picture of your receipt and email it to them and they would send the code back. Is he sure he did it right? Also it probably ended by now
And that’s mostly the main problem, that we didn’t even get the color white. We were promised white and black with some red and got grey on dark grey with maroon. Only the guns look white black and red like they are supposed to
I understand that, my friends list was covered with Infinite at launch, but that went away by Christmas. Apparently it dropped below the top 5 on XBL , and isn’t in the top 100 on Steam.

Even the guns looking good, is negated by the skin for sale in the store within 2 weeks, that looked the exact same, minus 2 areas being flipped in color palate.
Broo after i saw what they did to the SR152 reward for weapon skin, I lost all hope. They basically copy pasted the skin everything except on Pistol they put extra blue color on the side. IT LITRALLY THE SAME SKINNNNNNNNNNNN.
My boyfriend sent me a message yesterday while I was at school asking me to promise him that I wouldn’t get mad at 343, then he sent me side by side screenshots of Watchdog and HCS Winter. At first I thought it was all the Watchdog weapon coating, and I freaked the hell out. I didn’t look closely so I thought they had just given everybody the Watchdog weapon coatings for some reason. Then I looked closer and was able to breathe again because I realized they didn’t do that. But it was really unnerving for the two or so minutes I thought the hundred plus days I played on Halo 5 suddenly didn’t mean anything anymore.
Also. From what I’ve been told by a friend it wasn’t actually 343 that chose to change the coating. It was the content creators, because they had felt “It looked too clean” The icing on the cake here was the one that they mentioned had the most traction on getting it changed WASN’T EVEN A 152. Needless to say that gave me some serious cause for anger. Somebody who creates content gets to decide how a reward should look when they didn’t even do the work for it themselves. I won’t go tell the people who designed the Microsoft logo to change it to resemble the head of Bill Gates because for one, I didn’t work on that logo, and for two, it’s not my place to decide how something which I will never see any sentimental value in should look.
So in reality, it’s that they’re listening to the fans, just the ones who make them free stuff and know they can actually impact the community with their suggestions, even if it’s on something they don’t have. Like seriously. If you’re going to whine about watchdog but not the HCS coatings I’m not even going to give you the chance to defend yourself in an argument. I did the work. I put in over a hundred days for something which was meant to set me apart. You didn’t. You sat there, maybe got to 145-150 and decided it wasn’t worth it.
So I don’t want to hear a single statement about how you thought it was too clean when you decided all the other super clean coatings didn’t need to be changed. You had to go and change the one coating in the game a dedicated few actually had to EARN. Not the ones you can buy, because god forbid people decide not to buy a dirty coating for 20+ dollars. No. You targeted the one group of players who got a clean coating without having to pay for it. As far as I’m concerned your opinion is invalid. If you personally like dirty coatings I’m fine with that. Some of them even look good. But before you go and say clean coatings don’t belong in Halo, ask yourself this. “Did I put in the work and dedicate myself to getting what is by far the rarest coating you could obtain in Halo Infinite without buying a Razer product or a can of monster?” (Or being a 343i Employee.) Or, “did I sit by and judge what should have been the most prestigious coating in the entire game without even having the right to wear the damn thing?”
If it was the first one, your opinion is valid and while I don’t agree with you liking Watchdog being a dirty coating, I’ll live. If it’s the second one… I’d suggest you avoid trying to tell me your opinion for any reason. Five thousand of us were excited to get Watchdog, and a handful of people who have more power than five thousand players took it from us because they didn’t like how clean it was. Screw that! That might not be abuse of power, but it sure as hell is waving it around without thinking about how it might affect people who worked for the thing you’re able to destroy with a single suggestion! Five thousand of what are either the most dedicated fans or determined buyers of Legendary Warzone and Arena XP boost packs on Halo 5 have just been crushed beneath your foot and silenced. Five thousand voices. Five thousand drops of water fighting a single tidal wave.
This is the truth of Watchdog, and it is why our voices are not heard. It is because a small groups personal (and largely undeserved) opinion has more sway than the voices of those who truly loved Halo 5.

TLDR: From a distance I couldn’t even tell the difference between Watchdog and HCS Winter and thought they had given Watchdog to everybody so I lost it for a minute. Then I go on a lengthy rant about the Watchdog armor coating and how angry I am, like I always do.
I can’t believe the HCS free skins they are giving away right now are almost identical to the 152 skin with just a hint of blue.

I had just found out about the HCS weapon skin they are giving out and I’m really pissed off about it. I occasionally see a thread on Reddit about this topic and I’m happy that it gets a lot of attention (few thousand upvotes). Then I see sh*t like this happen and I honestly can’t believe it. The way they treat us makes me honestly hate 343 when I had previously liked a lot of what they do. The disrespect towards people who earn rewards for hard achievements (same with helioskrill in H5), makes me lose all respect for them.
As someone who has a degree in game dev and knows how development works, I understand that most of the devs that created and worked on the game would love to help us and hate to see us so mad and disrespected. I know it’s not in their control to fix this but the people above them making the decisions. But I can’t support 343 or this game, and I know the grunts on the floor devs understand.
This HCS skin is the last straw for me. I am one who grinded from about 95 to 152 after seeing that skin because I wanted THAT skin and to me it was worth it. But after the bait and switch, and now blatant disrespect by giving away a 95% similar skin for free, I regret it whole heartedly. I would have never done it if I knew they were gonna treat us and our rewards like this.
I’m done with this game. I’ll log in for fracture events to get quick limited time rewards on the off chance they eventually get their sh*t together but other then that, I’m done. Not buying any more battlepasses or anything from the store. I just can’t man. I’ll probably hang around this thread just to keep eyes on this and continue the support for us, but the game itself is not worth my time.
Well good news the main community integrants for the Halo Channels have been aware if this. I had only known of Sean looking into it and today, surprise, surprise: Mint Blitz had made the video about the subject. If the wave is strong enough 343 would be pushed into a corner with no other option than to answer to it and consequently fix it.
Edit: It was 343s with HCS decision to make it like that because of a certain Sentinels coating… so Id still blame 343 for this.
It’s the only kind of rant, that it leaves one to do. I’ve never been more screwed over, and like you said, it just makes you want to rant endlessly

That’s how I felt too, but honestly, not anymore. I didn’t know they’d have hundreds of skins that looked so much better than what we “earned”. Like if they’d released the Watchdog Skin preview, along with every store skin, noone would’ve purposely went for 152 still. If they did, I feel like their Sanity needs to be checked.

At this point fixing the coating and giving away a unique armor set would be the only solution Id accept.
Agreed sir, agreed… It’d be nice if it was actually a lore based armor though, and not like the Samurai Skirt lol… This could’ve been so simple, I honest to God, do not understand how it was managed to be screwed up. The Halo ring head floating above the head thing, why was that not gave as the reward 
… It’s like it was purposely made bland af…

If you are I’m going to go cry into a pillow because I just can’t take 343 repeatedly hurting me for simply being a 152 anymore.
I just saw this two months later, but tell your husband he’s more right than he realizes. A solid gold trophy would be a better consolation prize than the Watchdog we all got was.
Can you send me a link to that Discord? I want to go where my fellow 152’s reside, especially since we’ve all been screwed in the same boat by this point.
A piece of paper, Elementary School Award Format, congratulating one for getting to sr152, would be 1000 times better than Watchdog, even if you had to print it off yourself … It’d have a note on the back, of how to craft a frame out of household supplies.
Surprisingly, it somehow would be more unique IN GAME than Watchdog, even though the other players would have no way of knowing you even made it to sr152, and have the special self-printed congratulatory certificate, with bonus household supplies crafted frame Noone try to argue with me, since reasoning went out the window with Watchdog lol… It literally makes as much, if not more sense, and you know it.
Im in the same boat bro. The Fact that they screwed up the skin wasn’t enough for them, they went and gave weapon skin free to people. its basically 343’s way of showing the MIDDLE FINGER to the Halo Veterans/ community.
Yoo 343 im sure you guys have seen this post by now. It has 3.1k views and its been almost 2 months now, u guys still wont fix this issue and now u gugave out the sr152 weapon skin for free.
