i’m personaly an pc player. hardware isn’t an issue given what my computer can easily run (cold war, battle front 2, as examples) internet maaybe, though low chance given other online games i get about 60-80 ms, sure it’s not good but it is reasonable. region… US, and skill… not really. i mean, though i do suck so much at the game, it’s not really my fault for face stabs, inconsistant grenade explosions, being back smacked as i also kill the dude who back smacked me with a face to face melee…
more so when the UI is stating i’m having 100+ ms at an constant, once in a blue moon do i get below 100, and even then the lowest was 80. so the closest conclusion i can reach is that the net coding just sucks when sending information between players.
this could be mostly solved if there was a crossplay disable option or le gasp, a region selection…
but i guess for now we have to deal with Source Spagetti 2.0. where it bricks for some but works fine for others

I get it a bit on my Series X but it’s a massive problem on my PC.

I mentioned skill, region and internet because these are all factors used to matchmake players so some players may find that because of where they are pocketed they might experience much greater or much less desync than a player in a different situation.

Players that are in the same region on the same internet, but opposite ends of the skill spectrum will be matched with entirely different players.

Skill has nothing to do with more or less desync (except maybe the ability to properly determine it), the idea is that skill differentiates players which may explain why some experience it and others don’t, along with all other factors.

Its like geofilter but 343 decides who gets to be the filter.

Yep. No desync for me. I’ve got 5-6 days of playtime logged in this game too.

Reading between the lines the issue is mainly with BTB or players in remote regions such as Australia. I am based on the UK and play on series x. 20ms ping. I don’t play BTB.

If the player base increases desync should reduce as people can be matched with people closer to them. It’s partially why I think this is not an urgent issue for 343i - it’s ultimately an artefact caused by connection, which gets worse in large lobby sizes
