I play Halo Infinite on Xbox Series S, Xbox One X, and Cloud Gaming on my phone and I get almost no D-sync. Of course I get it here and there but, is it like almost exclusively PC? I don’t understand why so much people have the problem. Who else have experienced pretty much no D-sync at all? After the first patch it almost entirely disapeared for me at least.
I hardly notice it on Series X. It is much worse on my high-end PC. And much less noticeable the more casual of a gamer you are.
Think hardware, internet, region and skill all play factors in how much desync someone will experience.
I have had it in about 3 games out of the 600+ I’ve played so for me it isn’t an issue. I know it is a concern for many players and an issue Devs are working on it clearly affects some users far more.
Ok its a problem for PC, Xbox dosn’t have much of a problem. Right?
I primarily play on PC/Steam. It is a problem multiple times per match. I have the most expensive internet, wired directly to my modem via CAT6 cable, averaging about 40 ping. It is not a myth.
I only play on Xbox if I’m messing around in splitscreen with my family. There, I hardly notice it at all. It’s a combination of it being more optimized for Xbox and my more casual playstyle on Xbox.
I seem to be the lucky one with my PC and steam. No obvious d-sync (unless my internet goes on the fritz but that is my internet provider). I also have only crashed like twice, but that was back in the first few months.
However, I haven’t really been playing BTB where I would expect more stress on the internet.
Yep. Lucky here as well.
Only the occasional desync (if we’re talking grenades or hammer splashes not going doing what they are supposed to).
Get the good old fashioned “shot around the corner” a bit more regularly - but that’s more lag (when 150ms plus on the connection).
So yeah, haven’t seen much in 700+ games. Or cheaters (just the one - and I hope they rot in Hell). Lots of rigged squads and smurfs though. ![]()
Same, OG XB1 and more recently the Series S. Almost no desync. Occasional episodes but other than that. ![]()
I don’t really notice it all that often either so it’s difficult to comment.
I’m on Xbox series X and I see it almost every game. For me it’s worse in matches with lower ping.
Lol that escalated quickly
same here. it was near unplayable on my OG Xbone, but after finally getting a series X it is almost like a whole new game.
I would like to disagree. Even on an optimal 200+ MB/S network, I’ve experienced ‘unstable packet loss’ almost every game while using the Xbox Series X.
Play exclusively on series X and it’s constant. Grenades and rockets disappear into the floor, getting shot around corners, melee not registering even with the successful sound and animation, dying to 2 BR bursts or a single frag…it’s terrible. Makes the game nearly unplayable.
Had a new one the other day - my cindershot bounced back at me a full second before my opponent got his drop wall down (and the projectile even hit the floor a few feet back from where the drop wall was).
This stuff is by far the biggest issue for the game. Imagine being an NFL QB and you throw a deep pass, see your receiver catch it, and when you go to celebrate you see the ball hasn’t actually left your hand yet and the play is still happening. You literally can’t play the game correctly when you’re not getting the visual and auditory feedback required to make decisions.
You play on an Xbox One and Cloud on your phone?
You probably ARE the desync
People that cause lag never see themselves lagging, but everyone else can’t kill the person lagging hard
I wouldn’t be shocked if you don’t see any desync, because you are already the biggest source of desync in your lobby
This. On a typical gaming session I could clip about 5-7 occasions of desync. I only play open ranked so I guess it’s mostly against PC players with higher FPS.
Really curious as to what the cause of the discrepancy between players is?
I play on Series X, wired connection on a 50-60 Mbps line with virtually no desync. Probably only been 3-4 games where I’ve noticed any issue (but that might be old age not seeing what’s going on!).
How is the experience so varied across the player base?
Same here worse in low ping games.
Of course the issue doesn’t matter to you if you don’t get it. Who cares if someone doesn’t have the issue? Its still very real and very gamebreaking for those who do.
“Are people ever hungry? I eat all the time so Im not sure hunger exists”
what is more broken than having an issue in the game that affects only some players but others are unaffected and they have an unfair advantage. Damn its even worse than i thought. At least if it affected everyone it would’ve been more fair. It definitely affects me and many others. Just because it doesn’t affect you it doesn’t mean it doesn’t affect many many others.
