When Halo 4 comes out, everyone will be praising Reach for being a much better game, and will be put on a pedestal. Why? Well:

Halo 2 comes out
“This sucks! CE was better, they’re just casualizing the game! (remember Halo2sucks.com?)”

Halo 3 comes out
“This sucks! Halo 2 was the -Yoink!-, this game is awful!” Halo 2 gets put on a pedestal

Reach comes out
This sucks! Halo 3 was the best! Halo 3 gets put on a pedestal

The same thing is gonna happen with Halo 4, 5, and 6 (and potentially 7, 8, and 9).

Do whatever you need to do. Tag this thread, mark your calenders.

While this is obviously a trend in video games, I think enough people disliked Reach that they will enjoy Halo 4 more. Unless Halo 4 sucks, which I don’t think is very likely.

I’ve always put Halo 2 on a pedestal. I believe it’s still the best Halo game. Though Halo 4 may change that.

But for the majority of everybody, they will not praise Reach. They will not put it on a pedestal. If anything, they’ll praise Halo 3.

It’s going to happen. That’s how all the forums go for every game. People can’t try new things and adapt, so they storm the forums beating their chests and claiming the previous game was better.

That’s not a cycle. Halo CE was better than H2, and H2 was better than H3 and H3 was better than Reach.

H4 will not be worse than Reach.

But honestly I think people are just going to ignore Reach and go right to the H3 vs H4 comparisons.

Mindless sheep that follow really biased people might do this. But i for one will not. To me each halo has been better then the last. But if i had to choose my favorite halo game it would be halo CE.

I really think Halo: Reach will be the first to break this cycle by being bad ‘enough’. Instead, people will pick Halo 3 to pledge their alliance to.

I thought ODST was better than 3… Halo 2 better than ODST and 3, and now I feel Halo 4 will surpass them all. lol :stuck_out_tongue:

I don’t think anyone will be praising Halo: Reach. I really don’t recall many people saying Halo 2 or 3 were bad aside from dumb complaints. The reason no one likes Reach is because it just wasn’t that great of a game. I’m not sure if Halo 4 will be up to the previous trilogy’s standards, but it’s looking good so far. It can’t worse than Reach.

On the contrary. I can’t wait to be done with reach forever.

It simply is not possible to make a Halo game worse than Reach. So I think that trend will be coming to an end.

Fortunately, there is no way we can get a piece of -Yoink- as big a Reach.

Unfortunately, Halo 4 is just a piece of -Yoink- covered in Ice Cream sprinkles. So it isn’t saying much.

I was NEVER one of those people who always praise the old and flame the new… That was, until halo Reach was released. I loathe that game with a passion sometimes (but not always).

Anyways I can assure you I will never say “Halo 4 sucks, Reach was soooo much better” because in my books, Reach was the lowest of the low.

Don’t factually state that a game is better than another game. CE was my least favorite in the series if I’m going to be completely honest. I still love it, but it’s low on the list.

Halo 2 will always hold a special place in my heart and I continue to reminisce about fond Halo 3 matches. I, for one, thought Reach was very good. Certainly not better than CE, but I DID like it better than CE. It was a big change, some of which were poorly implemented, but it was still a treat to play for the first few months.

If I had to make a list of my favorite Halo games from most to least it’d probably be

Halo 3
Halo 2
Halo 3: ODST
Halo Reach
Halo: CE
Halo Wars (if you count it.)

Of course this is going to be interpreted as “Oh my god, he hate Halo CE, blasphemy.”
