Ok so a quick question if anyone knows; we know Halo 2 is getting gorgeous CGI which is all well and dandy, but is there any mention of what’s happening with the others, or are they being left as is?
I ask mainly on behalf of CE anniversary, where they poo’d up the animations and it’s painful to look at Keyes and Cortana even though in classic mode the animations look great…
I’m sure it would take way too much time for all the games to have CG but it’s going to be a weird mixture if we get:
Halo CE with in-game choppy animations
Halo 2 Anni with CGI only
Halo 3 in game with great animations but dated character models
Halo 4 with CG and in game with the best animations, character models etc.
Overarching H5 tie-in CG scenes
I’m sure I’m dreaming but I’d love for it all to be cohesive (even though I would prefer all in game as I think it looks more impressive when done right…)
Assume for the time being that only H2 will be getting this CGI treatment, unless 343i state otherwise. Sure, it’s a bit of a bummer, but I wasn’t expecting the other games to have the same CGI treatment. So in short? I doubt it. Sorry.
We are getting the Halo Anniversary they release in 2011, an all-new updated Halo 2 Anniversary, and HD-remastered versions of Halo 3 and 4. Beyond the upped framerate and resolution, expect nothing different in H1, H3, or H4 (as amazing as it would be to have the entire Halo franchise seamlessly integrated into one artistic style, namely that of H4 and the upcoming H5, which I’m guessing is going to continue using the same model styles as those in H4.)
I cannot wait to see the remastered shopping bag of death!
Thanks for confirming my suspicions guys, it is a shame as it would be great for cohesiveness.
Although the collection is such a good deal anyway I guess I can’t complain about something this minor.

It has been confirmed. Halo 2 Anniversary is the only one getting the pre-rendered cinematics. The other games are just being brought up the 1080p and 60 fps.
