Just finished the campaign and as im up to date mostly on the lore, i really enjoyed it. Cortana’s situation though is bittersweet.
Which is what brings this to mind. At the very beginning we see Halsey walking into a lab, saying how they both will be killed ( Its here she takes a capsule out of the console, which has cortana staring up at her ).
Have i missed something along the way or is this a possible copy of cortana somehow?
I’m pretty sure this is right before Noble Team takes Cortana from her

Cortana is essentially a clone of Halsey. She even has Halsey’s memories, as seen when she recounts them when suffering from rampancy in Halo 4. They have a bond and it was touching to see them smiling at each other in that scene. It looks to be in Halsey’s lab on Reach, just before Noble Team is tasked with delivering Cortana to the Pillar of Autumn to be paired with Master Chief.
It’s just a scene that sets the tone of the game, since it’s just a flashback. I’m more curious about the interrogation at the beginning of Halo 4. That really never amounted to anything more than the revelation of Halsey’s arrest and a veiled guy asking her about Master Chief.

You need to play halo reach… for this.
A little off topic but did any one else know that Miranda Keyes was Halsey’s daughter? I didn’t know until I read Halsey’s page in the Universe section of Halo Waypoint.

Yeah it`s mentioned in the books I think and in the Halo Reach LE Halseys Journal.
She still had her hand in this scene and here journal, she lost it at reach I think

She lost it at the climax of Halo 4’s Spartan Ops.
