The crossplay is very unbalanced

Sounds like you need to git gud.

A M&K has unlimited speed and precision, impossible on a controller they have aim assist its called a mouse pad. To move like a K&M player a controller player has to ramp their sensitivity all the way up, have there deadzones all the way down which makes aim assist feel almost non existent on most games. Then they need an elite or scuf to be able to jump and crouch like a K&M which most people dont have. It is so much harder to aim on a tiny thumbstick with max sensitivity than somebody using their entire arm on a giant mousepad with 200 fps on a nice monitor thats basically just point and click adventures yet… yet people get beat by abit of controller aim assist which is also inconsistent and annoying to use most the time… ? not to mention the sensitivity and aiming on this game is awful on controller.

While I definitely agree that the game feels pretty balanced both ways, I disagree that the controller feels awful. I use controller and quite often I’m one of the top 3 fraggers on my team.

I use M+KB and am typically top fragger and win a lot of my gunfights. I think it’s pretty balanced. From what I’ve hear the aim assist for controller isn’t even that good in this game.

Top 3 fraggers out of 4? That doesnt sound very impressive tbh. I can do that but the controller is way too slow with horrible aim acceleration. We dont get speed or precision. M&K has it easy.

They probably play BTB.

Pfft controller reaction speed is so slow compared to m/kb it’s really not that op lol

I’ve played both and controller is way better when you decrease the deadzones. I consistently pop skulls on controller and this comming from someone who mains mouse and keyboard and grew up playing csgo

Should have clarified, I play BTB most of the time. When I play 4v4, I usually have the most kills, even when my team loses.

I think you might be right.

I’ve said this in a few threads but I’m using a controller but playing on PC. I’ve finished all 20 of my weeklies and done the extra challenge for the visor so I’ve played quite a bit already and I’ve never once died and thought “I died because that guy was using a MKB”.

I’m not saying that there won’t be pros and cons to the different inputs, of course there will be but I do wonder how some of the people commenting on these threads can be so certain the reason they think others are playing better than them is down to their choice of input.

Again, I’m not saying there won’t be any difference, just that I do question the certainty that some people seem to have when there are so many other factors at play.

Getting the most kills doesnt mean the controls are good. Out of all the halos and other shooters out there this is the worst feeling game ive ever played. What other games have a max sensitivity this slow and sluggish? I can top frag but i know i could be doing alot better if i werent so restricted by controls. There are alot of people complaining about them for a reason.

The people who are complaining about the controller being too weak and not ever touching the M/KB are the ones who have no idea. I have played 1000s of hours of Halo on a controller. This is the first one with M/KB. I can instantly tell when someone is using a controller because they 3 burst me with a BR. It is so difficult to 3 burst on M/KB as an above average player. Other games where the TTK is high its fine to use M/KB because you only have to be precise for a short amount of time.

Can M/KB beat out a controller? Absolutely, but for the average player, and I mean the vast majority of players controller is just stronger on most situations. The only time it isn’t is if you need to turn sharply.

Yesterday during a BTB game I had 5600 damage with 5 kills. The guy on the top of the team had 23 kills with 4500 damage, sure he was cleaning up some kills here or there, but I legit did not get a single mid to long range kill with the BR because of the difficulty in landing shots.

I am honestly debating switching back to controller while on PC since the aim assist out weighs the negatives in every single scenario.

It also works vise versa, for the average console player, having aim assist be as inconsistent as it is almost makes the game unplayable when facing off against a good M&K player.

For context, the way aim assist activates [at least on Xbox] is the player must be strafing, have their reticle constantly on the enemy, and have the red reticle active in order for it to work. Pair this with how bad the overall aim feels for people, and you’ve got the current state of the game for console players. Now, I don’t know if the aim assist works the same way on PC, so I can’t really say much for PC controller players.

The game plays terrible on controller though. I think this is honestly more indicative of a decade of “muh pc master race” being proven untrue and people who bought into that idea being unable to cope with the difference not being relatively small. Point and case, virtually all cross platform shooters have a vocal subsection of MKB players complaining that they aren’t stomping console players like they expected whereas is inverse almost never happens.

Halo Infinite is the first Halo I’ve tried playing with MnK.

I’m curious as to whether or not the ranking system is in-line with H5’s. When playing with a controller in H5 I usually rank mid platinum to low diamond, but after 12 games of HI on MnK I’m only sitting at Silver 6.

Edit: Interestingly enough, my aim more often than not isn’t any worse than on console. My issue lies on struggling to use a keyboard effectively. Multiple times per game I have to glance at the keys to make sure I’m hitting the right buttons. I am quite literally fighting against the controls.

lol im high diamond and i can definitely say controller still has the advantage is not as skillful as kbm. Kbm is just pure aim whereas controller is a bot doing it for u. If ur saying the general population of kbm is trash ur just deadset wrong. The skill ceiling is way higher and controller players do not require the same amount of training and work to get the aim that controller does. Ur not better than anyone dont be toxic…

lol u seriously think that. Im personally a diamond 4 on the crossplay playlist and i found it quite difficult to challenge onyx and diamond players on controller. Its not fun and simply just not as skilfully as kbm. Kbm will always harder but better than controller. That is a given fact.

Nah, the real problem is pc already has hackers and I can’t turn crossplay off on my Xbox to avoid them.

Mnk is far from easy. If u believe that is the case replicate the same outcome with mnk. I can guarantee that u cannot, and u will miss every single shot. U have never touched a mouse, so how can u assume its that easy. Ur just absolutely delusional.

if its on console its not great if on pc controller thats a different story. Controller on pc is too easy and honestly does not deserve a place in competitive halo.
