Alrighty here we go, (btw, thanks for even taking the time to look at this).
Some people in particular (the LE and War Games Map Pass owners), are agitated about the fact that they paid in advance to get a product at a discounted price but were unable to use it upon release day YET other people were able to get the exact same product/service SOONER and for FREE.
Those aforementioned individuals are 100% justified in certain aspects of their condemnation of 343i/MS, (I currently do not know who is directly responsible for the predicament). As an honest paying customer they have the RIGHT to complain when a product/service that they paid money in advance for does not function properly. It is without a doubt 343i/MS’s fault for failing to provide a product/service as well as failing to ensure said product/service functioned properly on release day EVEN if only for certain individuals.
As for some kind of “compensation” it’s important to remember that this “deal” of free maps was NEVER intended. It’s not like these maps were released then discounted a month later. I believe that the LE and WGMP owners are rightfully owed a refund, NOT a special set of armor, Halo 4 theme, discounted price on future DLC. JUST the price difference, i.e. $5 or however many MS it works out to be. Personally I have absolutely NO problem with the fact that some people were able to get the maps for free. In my mind it’s a “In the right place at the right time”, kind of case and good for them and cheers to 343i/MS for allowing those people to get the maps for free on their “dime”.
Another issue is when people attack the very individuals (the honest customers), who are getting “screwed” and have every right to complain. Their rational for “hating” on the honest customers for their righteous complaints is typically “Come on guys give 343i/MS a break! You should have expected/seen this coming etc…” Although it may just be $5 (my apologies I’ve always struggled with mathematics however, I believe the price that LE and WGMP owners “overpaid” by is around $5), so YES $5 is not that much money again however, it’s the principle here that matters not the amount.
As for 343i/MS any kind of comment from your respective public relations department offering clarification on this regard would be GREATLY appreciated and if I might add the professional thing to do sooner rather than later.
Thanks,
-Hawk
