I want to see a Flood-infected Precursor. Actually no, forget that abomination, pretend that I never said this

Precursors ARE the Flood (Or rather the Flood is a corrupted version of Precursor genetics) so Flood-infected Precursor is like saying Precursor infected Precursor.

Oh boy not the conversation I was wanting to come out of this but… How on earth/where did you get the notion the flood is a version of the Precursors? They made the flood as the ultimate unstoppable revenge for life hunting and killing them down (to put it bluntly) The flood is not them at all!??

In the Forerunner trilogy it is elaborated the first flood forms are created by biological life ingesting a powder that was essentially a kind of “hibernation” for precursors where they were dormant and would later reform into their prior selves from this powder. However, over many millennia the powder became corrupted. The remaining precursors knew this and decided to send this powder on unmanned ships into space inhabited by forerunners and humans, intending to use this new abomination, a corruption of their own genetics, as revenge.

“As the Forerunner-Precursor war drew to a close, the few remaining Precursors that were pushed out beyond the edges of the galaxy to Path Kethona sought vengeance against the Forerunners. A few Precursors were spared by the Forerunners, while others became a dust which could regenerate into their past forms. Over time this dust became so corrupted that it could only cause horrific disease and mutation. The Precursors, driven insane by the rebellion of their creations, embraced this corruption and became part of it, becoming the Flood to destroy the Forerunners as a final act of vengeance against them.[5] They sent several ships containing this powder to Forerunner controlled planets.” Your Right, I just remember the rebellion part and the last precursor in the time vault thing talking to 343 GS and Didact talking about a rebellion lmao

I’m well aware. I have a PhD in Halo lore issued to me by the University of Nobody Cares. It’s my proudest accomplishment in life.

Lmao Technically same here I just left the community briefly after being disappointed in Halo 5 but Ive grown to accept it and have been in the Archive official lore community so Im slowly regaining all my big brain knowledge lol
To bring this thread back to its original intention: I think the Sapien Sunrise is the most insane faction in Halo. They’re a militant group of humans who refuse to accept that the universe is far more complicated than they see it. They ruined a key chance to bring the Sangheili and the Jiralhanae together, precipitated a smear campaign against the Chief by ONI, and will likely never accept that some alien species can be helpful to humanity. The Sangheili faction that believes the Flood are to be worshiped might give the Sapien Sunrise a run for their money, but that faction seems to have died out during the Great Schism.
