what are they ? we know the promethean knight’s are ancient humans but what are the crawlers and watchers ?

I always liked to view Watchers as children, and Crawlers maybe dogs or something?

but they have a human intelligence infused inside of them to operate them.

so they are all humans in machine bodies.

I’ve always thought of Crawlers as ‘Space Dogs’ and Watchers as ‘Space Flies’.

As far as I’ve ever known, I though only Knights were composed humans.
Could someone clarify this issue?

Thanks I’m such a newb, your really helping me understand someone new to the forerunner side of Halo . I do have one thing also i dont understand. The librarian kept the didact ? she predicted master chief coming but didn’t she see the didact coming back and trying to kill of more people?

It also says the Original Prometheans also got composed to better help against the flood.

I’m not really sure why…
I know they loved each other, so maybe she didn’t want to kill him because of her love. but I might be wrong
wasn’t it explained in the terminals? :o

Ahh, makes sense. I had always wondered what comprised of those two entities’ intelligence.

They’re artificial constructs. In one of the podcasts prior to the release of Halo 4, the Crawlers were confirmed to be created to fight off the Flood. They’re essentially mindless drones designed to kill. The Watchers too are merely constructs, confirmed in the Halo : The Essential Visual Guide to be just another Sentinel variant.

Only the Promethean Knights are created from composed beings.

I would assume that Watchers and Crawlers are humans as well. Just in different combat configurations is all.
