With the Covenant crumbling under the might of the Arbiter, who is going to replace them? I don’t want to be fighting Prometheans for the rest of the series, they aren’t nearly as good as the Covenant.
I’m guessing something will happen and the covenant will be reformed…or something…I dont know
Prometheans are fine. Besides, the Covenant isn’t going anywhere.
I’d imagine Halo 6 and the rest of the Chief games may deal more with the flood and forerunners. But after that, we may see the rise of various nationalistic, mercenary, and fanatical groups made up of former covenant belligerents and even humans as well.
Honestly, the Covenant’s been around for long enough. It’s time we fought something entirely new for a change.
I remember the last time we had the Covenant or rather the Remnant cornered…didn’t end positively. I mean Jul’s among the last of the die hard supporters and he slipped away without any real effort in Spartan Ops. I don’t think it’ll be as simple as the cutscene implies, ratherI have a feeling that Jul or one of his supporters will survive to carry the torch.
Even then assuming the hardliners are eventually put down, you have the Prometheans and whatever other Forerunners that may be hostile, you have the Flood out there still, and you have ONI which is in dire need of an armored boot in the -Yoink-.
Even if the Covenant falls apart I’m sure they will still be a nuisance in the form of small groups of fanatics, secular pirates, and covert rivals (ex. Nightfall).
Forerunners are likely to remain an enemy. I don’t see humans or the flood being a replacement for a list of reasons.
I could maybe see them inventing a whole new enemy, especially given the tease that even though Halo 5 won’t have the flood it will still have a surprise.
Yea I hope they dont take out the covenant, I love fighting them. The grunts are the best, too funny.
He could’ve just meant the Covenant’s hold on Sanghelios. It seems evident that besides whatever connection they have to the Guardians they are also doing a full fledged invasion of Sanghelios.
But then again Fireteam Osiris is seen attacking and drawing blood from Jul in the trailer so you never know.
I don’t think that 343i is going to remove the Covenant. Maybe a coalition between more species (yep, another Covenant like the ancient one)
Well I’m sure they’ll hold out until the end of the new trilogy so who really cares right?
Maybe an Exo-Galactic enemy? I also have no idea why the phrase Exo-Galactic popped into my head…
I think it’d be cool to fight an alliance of the Insurgents and the Covenant.
I really hope they don’t turn to the precursors.
I hope the covenant dont die out cause the Prometheans are annoying they aren’t that challenging and there not scary to freak you out with jump scares for instance the flood they jump scare I like that and the covenant are awesome military badasses and out of every alien military movie or game the covenant beat them all. Jul madama’s covenant is better than Truth’s covenant I don’t like San Shyunn. Jul is a better leader than Truth, regret and mercy
I would say that the Covenant would stay a little. Then then the rest of the Halo series would be facing enemies like the Forerunners. And maybe if not we could be actually be facing the Insurrection Campaign that happened before humanity found the Covenant. It looks likes its going there. We could be shooting at other people.
Brutes? And if the covenant’s broken, what will happen to the remaining anti human soldiers?
I smell an Alien-Halo crossover
Think about…The Master Chief awaken from cyro sleep aboard a seemingly empty space station. His armor powered down. “But thats supposed to last for years” he thinks.
Turns out its been 25 years since he went to cyro. The station creaks around him…
Dun dun dun!

-Yoink- think about sgt Apone and sgt Johnson in the same room. The game couldn’t contain that amount of bad -Yoink-.
Anyway I think insurgents and former coventant species are going to be the new enemies (or allies against oni?).
I think this underestimates the Guardians a bit
