I think the covenant needed a little more to do in the story. I know about the civil war and the storm faction and all that, but the covenant take the back seat and the only description you get on them in the game is one line which is “it’s been four years things can happen.”
I would have liked to see a scene where the covenant storm leader pledged his loyalty to the didact. I loved the campaign I just thought they could give the covenant a little more in the story. What do you guys think
out of all the campaigns, this was the one i liked the least. the main storyline of all the halos is human vs covenant. I feel like there should of been less time on the stupid made up forerunner planet and more time spent on halos actually getting the artifact and keeping it away from the didact, instead of ending the game outside of earth should of taken place on earth. too much random made up stuff in one game should of stuck to storyline. i get forerunners were always mentioned but never shown but cmon to blow it out of proportion and introduce who they were and fight them the whole way through and have the covenant team up with them for no reason makes no sense.

What do you mean by “made up” stuff? A lot of the people and technology in-game was mentioned in the novels. I think more time should’ve gone to explain them though.
I feel like the Covenant were at their strongest in Reach, and at their weakest in 4.
Edit: Strongest in either Reach or 2, kinda hard to decide, so I’ll just say both
actualy ye i didnt realy noticed before though i think 343 deserve some slack for pulling off such a great personal story while keeping it very halo
i hope in halo 5 they deal more in elites civil war like you being sent to meet with arbiter to help him end the war cause then it would give us the greatest amount of insight into the covenant we aint had since halo 2
plus the arbiter and chief could have some right good banter(kinda for lack of a better word) but with the chief possibly losing it to grief but can connect with arbiter better than most humans
fellow soldier
willing to do what must be done no matter the odds
already has a great amount of trust from what happened on the ark
was ther with him to rescue cortana from the grave mind
both have a serious attitude
and i assume knows a thing or two about loss wi having his faith destroyed by the truth, being betrayed, branded as a traitor and losing his command
I actually agree. The Campaign itself was good, but 343i need to add more depth into their story next time, rather than just depend on the books to do all the story telling. I don’t mind the books playing a small role in a game’s story, but the game’s story should not rely on the books to be told to the audience properly.

It is hard to decide, but I do like the Covenant ranking system better in Halo 2. In Reach and Halo 4, it’s very hard to figure out what’s a Zealot, what’s a General, what’s a Minor and so on. With Halo 2 their ranks were defined by color, which was a very easy thing to remember. Not to mention that it was a solid ranking structure that didn’t need changing.
