The Covenant Attacking Chief

So so far we know that the covenant are attacking chief in the first mission on a ship (deja vu). There is no way that they are the massive threat 343 is talking about we have fought the Covies before and they are a threat but no where near how extreme 343 is describing this “New” Threat. So there are probably more than just 1 specific enemy in Halo 4 that we are fight, maybe flood and something else.

It’s pretty much all but confirmed at this point that our new enemies will be the Forerunners.

The only problem with that is that the UNSC does not have the technology to fight the Forerunners. That can be explained in the early part of the campaign, though.

Frankie said that the new enemy will be completely new, you can do days worth of research on the halo universe and you won’t find what the enemy is. It is a completely new thing.

Weren’t they called Caveats or something along those lines? Was it by the community? Or is it by i343?

I wouldn’t say that. Between the Infinity having every recovered piece of Forerunner tech so far on board and also having the new Engineers from Onyx (hell, by the time Halo 3 ends, the UNSC already has Forerunner tech enhancing their starship engines, and that was before they got the Engineers), and the fact Halo 4 takes place in 2557 (4 years after Halo 3) and so they’ve had plenty of time to work the Forerunner tech, i think they stand a decent chance.

EDIT: and the “Caveats” are nothing, as far as i know.

Halo 4 is in 2558. 5 years later

OK, guys, the new enemy is an “ancient threat that the Chief has never faced before.”

Forerunners.

Nope, it’s 2557. To be specific, 4 years, 7 months and 10 days since Halo 3.

Unless the game starts in 2557, then a few months pass throughout the game and go into 2558, we’ll just have to wait and see.

My personal theory is that the Precursors will create a new “Flood” to judge Humanity with.
But the Master Builders personal Forerunner army is just as good a guess.
