The Covenant are not called the Storm!

I’ve seen people everywhere on the forums calling the Covenant the Storm, never once did 343 EVER refer to these guys as the Storm.

When 343 first released the Covenant ranks, they named the lowest rank of each species “Storm Elite” Storm Grunt" or “Storm Jackal”, OXM misinterpreted this as the new faction name, which it is not!

Halopedia realized this and changed the name (informaly since there’s no official name other than Covenant) to the Covenant remnant.

I just wanted to tell everyone this, cause the whole Storm thing was bothering me.

Read the interactive guide, it says that there called storm because of the tactics they use.

They are called “storm” because they do little damage and there is a sihtload of em.

I have read in the interactive guide. It provides no insight into the new name, unless “Storm” is a replacement for the Elite “Minor” class.

It is, they just changed the name from minor to storm
I thought I got that from the interactive guide, might have been from somewhere else though.

Blame OXM, they thought the Storm rank was the name for the Covenant remnant in Halo 4.

The covenant in halo 4 are refered to in the books as an overzealous religious group of covenant known as the storm. Chief wouldn’t know that because he’s been in cryo for 4 years.

Calling them the storm sounds better than covenant remnants imho.

Ya that never happened ever, they were never, not even once, called or referred to as the Storm.
It’s just OXM getting there facts mixed up.

Does it really -Yoinking!- matter if people call them the Storm Covenant? No. They aren’t the actual Covenant that fell, that role is still in the hands of the surviving Loyalists. Much like the Legendary Planet, now Requiem, it is just a popular fan name.

Look… 343 hasnt done a good job at telling this part of the story so the fans have taken it upon themselves to giving that label to tell them apart. So until we got some actual info they are going to be called the Storm. There are Storm Grunts, Elites, and rifles so… Storm it is.

“The Storm Covenant”… STUPIDEST NAME EVER!

Granted they are not THE Covenant, but there beliefs are almost identical. And since in the game and the books they were never called the storm…
I will from now on refer to them as “Neo-Covenant”.
