And, frankly, it’s the worst time for 343i to be jumping.
Let’s compare the two Halo trilogies:
Think about it. Their first game, Halo 4, performed rather mediocrely in comparison to Halo CE. There isn’t as strong a following, and there isn’t nearly enough anticipation as far as the new title (which, for simplicity’s sake, is being called Halo 5.)
The first point I’m trying to make is that it would have been smarter in my opinion to release H5 on both the 360 and XBOne. I don’t care about graphics. I really don’t. Halo 3’s were lush and deeply hued; perfect for what really made it a good game: you know, GAMEPLAY. Once 343i (Assuming they listened) improved upon the shortcomings of H4, customers would have access to a polished new game! H5! For only $60 on their already purchased Xbox 360!
I’d jump at it!
But for the hassle of purchasing a developer intended restriction VCR, for the low low price of $499 on top of that, it’s not worth it in my case. It’s sad to believe, and I’m not going to bother pulling the true fan argument, but I’m not going to be a Halo player (or at least current issue Halo player) by the passing of this year.
Sad day.
I’d love to hear your thoughts, stories, and opinions on this issue!
I wouldn’t want it on the Xbox 360. The possibilities in terms of both gameplay and graphics would be massively curtailed by the now long outdated power of the 360.
Yes, the Xbox One sucks but there’s still hope that Microsoft will learn and repair at least some of their short-sighted decisions. I’m willing to take that bet in exchange for the guaranteed awesome possibilities of Halo 5 running on Xbox One hardware.

I couldn’t have said it better, myself! While the Xbox One has some unappealing restrictions associated with it, the hardware and new features are enough to draw me in. With this new hardware, I can only imagine the possibilities of what Halo 5 will be able to do!
Well, all my friends and myself have been in Xbox camp for a while now, but everyone is jumping ship. My friends list has been populated with Halo friends for years, but at Halo4 midnight launch I was the only one playing it so I’m fairly certain that 343 Halo isn’t going to push the Xbone that much. Myself, I’m probably not getting either next gen system. Too expensive, restrictive, and an invasion of privacy with Kinect. All kinds of issues. Xb1 is too much Microsoft and not enough Xbox, but what do you expect with former front runner of EA at the helm of Xbox.
1)I don’t trust 343i. It’s true that Halo 4 has improved a lot since launch. How? All 343 had to do is get rid of their ‘innovations’: the result is Slayer Pro. It took them months to reach that conclusion.
IMO, these people don’t know how to make a Halo game. So my expectations are very low for Halo 5.
2)Xbox One, AKA Juan. I am satisfied with my 360, and I had plans to buy the new Xbox, but after knowing the abusive product that Juan is, I decided to buy a PS4. More powerful, cheaper, smaller, and without online requirements.
I will never accept having to ask for permission to play MY games on MY console. Besides, the Internet is not everywhere and it’s not free.
Bungie and Activision are releasing Destiny for the 360 and the PS3 along with the newer consoles. Smart move in my opinion.
Battlefield 4 will also be releasing on the 360 and Ps3 along with newer consoles.
I know which games I’ll be buying.
I’m only really going to buy the next Halo if the Xbox One gets a rework. Simply being I have terrible internet and I’m not putting up with any of this always online console stuff (even a 24 hour sign in is pretty bad for me.)
I think it would be great if the next Halo were to release for the xbox 360, because for the time being I’m not shilling out 500 dollars for a game console that comes with things I either already have or things I don’t need.
I’ll get the Xbox One later. For now I’m sticking with my 360.
I’d rather not play another Halo game on the 360. The framerate issues were bad enough in Reach and more so in Halo 4. It’s an 8 year old piece of hardware. It’s time is up.
Well, one if the problems are games like Destiny are releasing towards the end if this year like the new consoles. Some games are coming out before the new consoles are released. So it would be a smart move to sell on both generations.
However, games like the new Halo are not coming out until next year, and probably not until around November. So it is more unlikely that games released next year will appear on both generations of consoles.
I disagree. When the next generation of consoles drop my purchases of games on the current generation will cease completely. If Halo 5 was on Xbox 360 only then it would be a game that I would not pick up.
With it being on the Xbone then people who are fans of Halo will be driven to save up for a Xbone so that they can play the next entry of Halo.
Unless Microsoft completely backtracks on all the bad decisions with Xbox One - DRM, check-ins, mandatory Kinect, $500 price tag - there is no way I’m getting one.
There is no logical reason to buy a Xbox One over a PS4.

DRM?
Sony has aid they are leaving DRM up to the publishers, so it could be just as bad as the Xbox, especialy if 3rd party games are having to do it for one console, they may as well do it for the other.
Check-ins?
You don’t have internet, how are you on these forums?
Mandatory Kinect?
You can turn that off.
$500?
Thats the price to two games, and becides if your already spending $400, its hardly a massive jump.
And as for no logical reason, your on Halowaypoint, your obviously a Halo fan…
Your beginning statement of not caring about graphics in relation to hardware changes in the new console is flawed because new hardware means way more than just visual fidelity. Not to mention visual fidelity is very important in gaming to begin with, to have 1920x1080 resolution for crisp clarity allowing for competitive players to recognize things from further away, from annoying artifacts such as aliasing going away.
So no, lets not even joke that they should release a title on the Xbox 360.
We know people don’t like the Xbox One. But creating the same post over and over again won’t help your cause. 343 has no say whatsoever in Microsoft’s policies. 343 creates a game known as Halo. The community that’s buying Halo 5 doesn’t care about your opinion. The only people who are listening to you “PS nationers” are each other. Go complain somewhere else.
It’s become so redundant, I wouldn’t mind if “buying an Xbox One?” and “hate the Xbox One!?” threads were locked. The argument’s getting old. You’re on a HALO forum–a franchise exclusive to the Xbox. It doesn’t contribute to creating a better Halo game AT ALL. Please stop for the sake of everyone’s sanity.
And… I’m not saying this because I’m an Xbox fanboy or I hate the PlayStation. In fact, I own a PS1, PS2, and PS3. I just don’t know how much more complaining I can take before my head explodes.
