If you have read Primordium, then you are familiar with the Composer. It is a mysterious forerunner machine capable of removing one’s “soul” and memories and imprinting them into machines as something… other than AIs. After seeing what has been revealed of hte Prometheans we’ll be facing in Halo 4 (most notably the knights), one would have to assume the Composer was instrumental in transferring a Promethean
s essence into the non-biological shell of the knights.
Could the Composer be on Requiem?
If it is, it is my theory that that machine is the key to saving Cortana. I think that once the Chief finds out about it, he will make it his primary mission to find it and find a way to use it to save Cortana. We don’t know if it can take an AI and transfer it to a more suitable form, transfer her into a living specimen (she is, after all, based off of a human brain), or anything else that it can do for that matter. We have very little intel on it, perhaps on purpose.
This is just my personal theory on a key part of the plot and how I see it playing out.
@SAGHELLWORLD117: Who knows? Last we saw it, it was on Installation 07 of which the Didact had control over… Maybe that is the Halo we see in the menu?
@CountryMonk222: As far as we know, it’s only biological-artificial transference. We don’t know if it can go the other way. The books are fairly slow, but a good read. It really isn’t cliche, it is actually an interesting machine and story.

ok but I doubt we will go to a halo ring in halo 4
I think that the Composer has something to do with the Prometheans, I think that there’s “Forerunners” in the Promethean Knights similar to how Chakas is 343 GS.
