For me, Halo is simplicity. It’s a notion that one may relax, laugh, play a game, and have fun while doing it. It’s a fast-paced game, but an easy to understand one: point and shoot. Essentially, things don’t become overcomplicated. But it’s not just simplicity, equality plays perhaps the single most vital role. No one is granted any advantage over the other from start/spawn. Rank represents skill, but does not give individuals access to specific advantages (this is were my dislike of perks and loadouts comes in). Everyone is a player with a basic goal: to enjoy themselves.
The playing field is open and wondrous. The art and environments spark senses of mystery, creativity, and awe (given today’s ViDoc, I’ll say 343i has that taken care of
) The story is immense and the community is cooperative. All in all, Halo is a fantastic gaming experience.
With word of these “perks” and loadouts roaming around the Halo community, I have noticed that more and more people have requested that Halo 4 take on a more “Halo” feel. Given my denotation of the term, I suppose I agree; but my question to the community is this:
"What is Halo? What is the Halo feel? What is the Halo gameplay? What do you expect from Halo and Halo 4?"
