I often use the Covenant Carbine online and I have received multiple messages saying, “Stop using a noobs spammer weapon” after really slamming other players in slayer games(Don’t misinterpret that as bragging). Now I understand that the Carbine is technically “spammed” but it also takes more shots to kill, which in turn, requires you to keep the head shot lined up longer. So I was wondering, what is the communities opinion on the Carbine?
Is it a noob weapon, or does it require just as much effort(if not more) then the other weapons?
It is far from a noob weapon, it has a much higher killtime than weapons like the Battle Rifle & DMR.
If you’re killing people with it in its 8SK state, you deserve a pat on the back. The messages you are getting are just irritated players because they know they’ve just been outplayed by a considerably worse weapon.

Though it is a semi-auto with a high rate of fire, which is why it is sometimes called a “spam” weapon. It is countered by the lower damage against shields and body which means it is normally outgunned in nearly all scenarios.
It is a good weapon in its own right, though as it is not common in MM it is unexpected and often not countered well, which may lead some to call it a “noob” weapon, when it may be their own fault for not being prepared for all possibilities.

Noob weapon? Good god no. I can’t use it because I’m terrible with it, but anyone who can kill me while I have my mighty BR of death is awesome in my book. X3

I’m normally one of those people, and I didn’t really notice. You get so used to people doing it wrong that you don’t bother. I’ve seen a LOT worse on these forums. Everyone makes a typo occasionally.
Also, the Carbine is a weapon that takes a lot of skill to use. I’ve used it before, but I got mostly assists with it. It’s definitely not a noob weapon. (I voted for “Hallelujah, it’s raining men.” obviously. :P)

Lol I have never received a message from people hating on my carbine use, that is just bizarre. Most players realize the carbine is an underpowered weapon and the hardest precision loadout to successfully use. I commend you for using the carbine, pats on the back for you!

OT: I love the Carbine! It’s so pink and yet so manly! It also takes 10x more skill than the DMR.
The 6 year old who posted the original of the comment above uses the DMR extensively.
