Shout out to all of the Forge modders who made these maps (Oddball skull placements in particular) and to 343 Industries for letting them do their thing as an event!
Hope this returns in the future, along with Doubles.
I’m loving the community playlist with the four different forge maps. Salvation, the Halo CE remake of Damnation is my favorite because it brings back so much nostalgia from those days of playing Halo.
Hopefully 343 can add more maps and various game modes such as an action sack, griff ball and infection!
It’s funny that the community has come up with better maps than 343i has.
Yeah, I’ve honestly had so much more fun on these maps than I have on any of the 343i maps.
I’ve said this a few times now, but all 343i need to do is make a new community map playlist every month. The maps are already there and the community would keep trying to get their maps featured. Halo Infinite would have so many great maps and there’d be a good reason to come back to the game.
Imagine infection with about 100 maps in the map rotation? No two games would play the same!
Hey so they aren’t modders at all.
They are 100% using in-game tools to accomplish their goals. There is NO modding happening here at all.
Each one is a remix or remake of an old map.
Absolution: A remix of The Pit, distinct and inspired by, but The Pit is in its blood.
Preilous: Heavily inspired by and even shares geometry with Lockout.
Salvation: Literally a remake and remix of Damnation.
Starboard: This is a Halo: Infinite compatible version of Midship from Halo 2.
Not to decry these maps. They are all wonderful. It is just that some are LITERALLY remakes of old maps.
That is correct. You see, kid - they’re using available modification tools.
I didn’t invite you to bash the developers of the website you post on. Thanks for posting, though!
I think we’re having a failure to communicate. I thought modding was a good thing - not modding a closed client or input device.
Depends on the modding. Didn’t assert that modding was bad either.
But making Forge Maps, is not modding.
I understand - thank you for correcting my syntax. I haven’t messed with Forge since Halo 5’s Forge for Windows 10 released (and sadly nobody really hosts any custom games there any longer.)
Back to the topic, though. It was a really killer weekly event!
I think they should just keep adding maps to the playlist, 4 maps is a good start, but there should be a lot more coming, it should get to a point where it’s rare to play on the same map twice in a session.
You are 100% correct, I was not saying other wise. It’s still funny that these maps are far better than what 343i has put out.
I like the spirit of what you’re saying. A possible downside to that would be a lack of map knowledge, though.
Community playlist slaps fr
I really like this idea a lot because there are now literally hundreds of maps that have been created. Lots of great ones and lots of… (what in the world were you thinking ones)
New fresh maps are great!
I’d like to see throw back playlists with maps from that specific halo game. Now that would be amazing!
