So a big complaint I have about the Halo community whether you’re competitive, a casual, a campaign player, a forger, a custom games player, etc etc etc. The Halo Community has so many issues with others opinions. It’s always an I’m right you’re wrong type of mentality when it comes to what Halo should be. The older players always tend to have this idea Halo needs to be just like H2 or H3 when it needs to get with the times while staying true to its core value and what makes Halo, Halo. We need to all have an open mind to different ideas and mechanics that are added to Halo, and if we don’t like them we can voice our opinion and hope 343 can tweak them in a way that doesn’t hinder anything. Every halo player tends to think in a straight line and no one is open to any sort of new or innovative idea that gets added. Sprint for example, still a major topic in the community. It’s here to stay because it modernizes the game. Most of us like to live in the past and stay there and it doesn’t allow us to enjoy what’s right in front of us. Halo 5, 5-6 years later is finally getting praised for it’s movement mechanics. When it was THE main game, it was criticized cause it was different. So I’ll end here and say that in order for Halo to prosper and grow its community, EVERYONE, needs to be way more positive and open minded when it comes to different concepts and ideas related to Halo Infinite, or even content for MCC. Halo has to evolve, and the only way Halo can evolve is if we stay from the linear path that we think Halo is or needs to be. Thank you for coming to my T.E.D. Talk.
“Halo needs to get on with the times. Sprint is here to stay. Stop living in the past, Halo needs to evolve.”
This in itself is a very “I’m right you’re wrong” type of mentality. You yourself have an issue with other people’s opinions, and your solution is that everybody should just agree with you. Open-mindedness starts with a critical examination of your own beliefs about other people’s ideas.
