I personally prefer serious over funny.
That being said a noise complaint was harsh. There is a mute button for goodness sakes. If it bothered them that shouldve used that. It’s not like you were harassing them, you were just having fun.
Well, nobody wants to hear crappy music over the game chat. It interferes with my ability to hear where enemy fire is coming from.
Perhaps they have never seen red vs blue. But in any case, the mute option is much more effective than sending a noise complaint.
Edit: I actually would have loved to see this. I would have got on board with it and start playing some simmons/sarge one liners.
I’m surprised you got reported but people really hate music on the mic, it just isn’t high quality enough and people who want to talk can’t.
No. No one wants to hear you playing your own music over their headsets.
Id change the title of the post because as it is , it’s just gonna create negativity

It’s poor etiquette to intentionally play music through your headset. Everyone knows or should know that. So a noise complaint is pretty justified.
This is why people stay in party chat vs game chat. Music through the mic sounds -Yoink- and it’s annoying.

I’d honestly hate the horrid sounds coming from a mic mid game. Would’ve muted you. <= Avid Reach player.
So you see nothing wrong with imposing your music on random people who just want to play the game? The community does suck if it thinks it can ruin enjoyment of others and think the ones that have a problem with their fun being hindered are the ones that suck. I would’ve reported you as well and I hope the punishment given teaches you to not do things you think are fun but others dont. I mean how could they if they weren’t privy to what you guys had planned? Did you think they’d think you guys were super cool or something and therefore obviously feed your starving ego? Finally the reach community is the H5 community same as how the CE community is the H5 community. Countless times have I read “I’ve been here since CE” so in that aspect you don’t know what you’re talking about.
To anyone who doesn’t know what the OP is talking about. I think it’s downright hilarious, and wouldn’t have muted you.

Red vs Blue is one of those things, like, even if you’ve never played Halo, you probably know what RvB is.

I have also been here since CE and you should know as much as I do the community is NOT the same it’s filled with pro players every were now and I don’t think I need to remind you it is a GAME have fun the music was also good quality AND their was someone in the game with a Mic that echoes telling us to turn it off with profane language when he could have just muted us instead of acting like a child

This is not a good thing to do. Some poeple just want to play and several of us are already tired of other things we hear going through the mics that isn’t intentional. You could have caught some people at a bad time. Were you able to hear them tell you to stop?
First of all dude, if you think music being played through one mic over an Internet game into some random persons mic (of unknown quality) is good then you’re furthering the notion of you don’t know what you’re talking about. Just cause it sounded good to you doesn’t mean it came through the same to the randoms you forced to hear it. Yeah you’re right it is a GAME so people expect to play a GAME it’s not a concert or rave where you and your buddies feel like they have to DJ a shooter. The echoing mic is another reason to not play music sure he didn’t have to cuss but you didn’t have to play music. Why shouldn’t people report you if you straight up violated the noise rules?
Umm… I think the reaction would have been the same in Halo Reach as it is in Halo 5. And again, the reaction varies from one person to another. You can’t just say that all Reach players would love your idea, and all Halo 5 players hate it. Especially since a lot of people playing Halo 5 also played Reach.
And seriously… If you’re going to blast music through your mic, you’re going to get a noise complaint. Just because you find it funny, it doesn’t mean that everybody will too. Some players just want to sit back and relax on Halo after a long day, and don’t want to hear music that isn’t their taste go through the mic. If you want to do stuff like that, it’s best to keep it in your party.
I would have thought it was funny but odds are most didn’t realize what you were doing. Red vs Blue is awesome, I own every season on DVD. But it’s not popular enough for every one to get it. It is sad every one is so quick to report now a days. I guess players are so lost they don’t even know how to simply mute a player. But not surprising I guess most seem to want others to solve their problems now a days.
What you consider fun I consider obnoxious.
I’d have hit you with a swift mute and not thought about you ever again.
The community doesn’t hate fun, they hate people being obnoxious.
