I mean its not like the average age of gamers these days is 31 years old right? Oh wait…
Halo needs meaningful change
-
New gamemodes - New decent fleshed out characters - New weapons - New customisationHalo doesn’t need pointless negative change
-
Removal of gamemodes - Limited content - Removal of key founding featuresHalo does need change but it needs to be planned out and be meaningful.
we’ve had “change” for 2 games in a row and it’s still not working, maybe the “change” halo really needs is to change back to classic styled gameplay which everyone knows was faaaaaar more fun and competitive than what we have now, and to innovate in it’s own way rather than copying current fps trends?

This is exactly how I feel.
Also, I found the OP quite hard to read/follow.

Technically weave had change since Halo 2, the only difference now is that some of the changes made by 343 are not good for the long term.

Halo 5 isn’t fixed by your definition. I encounter bugs and crashes. “It’s playable, not fixed.” Ya, ok, but the MCC is fixed. Can’t deny that bro.

The only difference is changes are being implemented by 343 instead of bungie and ignorant fans hate them because of it.

We’re ignorant because we know 343 made the changes? I don’t think you know what ignorant means. How ironic.
> 2533274990212593;1:
> I know this topic has been talked about a lot but I think we needed these changes. Halo 5 as everyone knows is completely different than CE, halo 2, or 3. Halo CE came out in 2001 if the player base was in high school they would be around 30 something by now. Halo 2 came out in 2004 player base would be around their mid 20s . Halo 3 came out in 2007 the player base now would be in their early 20s or late teens. These are just averages assuming the minimum age to buy halo but there are younger players I was playing halo 2 at the age of 10 but as people get older they grow out of playing xbox daily most original people who played halo ce doesn’t play anymore now it’s the new generation and if they stuck with the old way of playing other games like Titan fall, battle field, and call of duty would get these new players instead of halo because they are going to ask “would I rather jog around a map and shoot or jump across building slide in for a kill with a shot gun?” (And yes I realize the old halos took more skill I’ve played them) what I’m saying is it sounds a lot cooler and more fun to player halo 5 than previous halos and without new players halo will eventually die and some might say well at that point maybe it should and I’ve got to disagree. either way you wouldn’t play halo whether there is a new halo or not but some people enjoy the route halo is going. I’m not saying people who don’t like the way halo 5 has no right to have an opinion I’m saying no one wants to play the same game rapped in a different skin every couple of years unless for some reason you are still complaing that bungie should still be making halo but they would probably be doing the same thing I mean look at destiny so I think bungies halo 4 and 5 would be pretty similar to 343. To end this ill just say I like bungie and 343 both I’ve never judged any game based on who made it. Bungie did a good job with all the halos they have made but that era of gaming is over its time to accept and adapt if you want to continue playing future halos or accept and move on and stop blaming 343 because halo 5 is so different cause they did listen to the community with this one.
Before I reply, I just want to say I don’t hate Halo 5 at all. Yes they’re things I would do differently and IMO 343I does a lot of head scratching decision/changes things for the sake of it but I don’t think Halo 5 is terrible.
To the OP statement, I will say to this… There is ZERO evidences that Halo needed to “change” or “evolve” after Halo 3. Halo 3 being the last Halo game that was still similar to past Halo games. Halo 3 population and sale #'s were/are off the charts. Ever since Halo changed a lot (aka Reach) Halo hasn’t been anywhere near as popular as it was and it’s just keep going downhill aka Halo 4. Halo 5 SEEMS to of brought Halo 5 back somewhat, but not anywhere near to the level of Halo 3 or before.
IMO Halo is becoming more of “It’s just a other video game” instead of “Halo started trends and is one of the best of the best games out there” It’s sad really…
Honestly…343 has the formula set I think. The multiplayer is exactly what is needed, new-player friendly (friendly doesn’t mean bad) and incredibly fun. The sandbox is the most balanced sandbox there has ever been. The forge is phenomenal. Only two things that they can do to improve upon Halo in the next mainline game installment would be:
- Keep the formula how it is, however release the game with more content - The storywriting for campaign…it needs some drastic work. If Halo 5 had launched with everything with have from each update, and had a better campaign worthy of a mainline Halo game? It would’ve been hailed as one of the best from the outset. And I think now Halo 5 is up to that standard, Halo 6 will be a blast.

why do you think i always liked halo over cod? cod is pick up and play friendly halo was not… so noob charge is a good thing? sprint making all the maps articially bigger is a good thing? automatics being overpowered is a good thing? 99% of armor and emblems locked behind rng reqs a good thing?

> Yeah because Halo 4 and 5 are defiantly the best in everyone’s eyes, not to mention Halo 5 didn’t sell great. Look at games like CS:GO and the new DOOM, Halo doesn’t need sprint or obnoxious abilities to be popular. This kind of stuff is driving away a BIG chunk of the community, exactly what CoD is going through right now with Infinite Warfare. I don’t know why you’re bringing age into this, Halo had a perfect formula, it set standards, it made trends.

Halo gained popularity with Reach, which is one of the reasons why the terrible Halo 4 sold so well. Halo 5 sold poorly because the xbox one isn’t as popular as the xbox and xbox 360 were back when the older games were released and also because Halo 4 was very bad. #Facts

Please… Remember noob combo? Duel wilding pp and magnum/mauler? Hijacking, removing health and having shields only? I can list many ways original halo games were easy to pickup games cuz they were. You don’t just get 10+ million players for being a tough game dude… It had its mix of casual friendly and more competitive style for a variety of people, the campaign alone is perfect to make it an easy to pick up game as halo is above just its multiplayer.
Youre implying CoD is easier to play and halo is the harder game when it’s a matter of preference. A twitch game can have just as much skill as an arena/tactical but differ in many ways. There can be a list for both games on how they’re noob friendly ten years ago and now and the concept still won’t change. Games don’t pickup large fan bases by being a hard to play game, sorry to put it out there. Yea people buy harder to play games for the challenge, but majority don’t.

Yup, based on what?
Because based on sales (https://www.reddit.com/r/halo/comments/4ab26y/lets_talk_about_halo_5s_sales_it_is_selling_less/) Halo 5 is the worst selling game of the franchise.

I really don’t think anything of the whole cod/halo thing… I didn’t say other Halo games weren’t new player friendly, I just mean this one definitely is new player friendly. And honestly while other Halo games sold really well…nobody seems to acknowledge that today is a different market, with a different customer base and different consumer insterests, Halo just isn’t really in fashion anymore, regardless of how good the game is, or how bad it is, it wouldn’t be as popular as it once was because today is a different market, almost ten years after Halo 3
It’s rich to be told to exept change when the game has reverted to being basic. Saying that the past change was bad wanting to have a more basic halo which is less fun. Halo 5 just removed a ton of stuff and added a few thing.
Halo 5 is halo with all the stuff that changed it removed.
