> I miss the halo3 guardians map that was my favourite map I would love it if they brought a remake of that map out for Team Slayer for free for all id be a happy gamer and wouldn’t care much for the change do you guys think the halo3 guardian map would fit in with halo5 ?

That was my favourite map too - I used to love Lone Wolves on that map.

I went back and played halo reach BC on Xbox one last night, and the numbers are over 10,000! People are still playing… I don’t think halo 5 consistently had the same numbers of online population. Clearly reach did things well, that is apparently undeniable to others… Hint hint, reach did a lot of things well, despite everyone’s hatred for armor lock.

gametypes, playlists, maps, armor, VEHICLES… Customs, forge, FILESHARE, theater, FIREFIGHT…

reach also had way less aim assist, which makes it unforgiving… But in turn makes the reward of playing with skill that much better

Read my previous posts, the evidence is there. But I’ll highlight it one more time just for you

Halo 3 to Halo Reach 2.3 million decrease in sales
Halo Reach to Halo 4 0.2 million decrease in sales

The success of Reach is what kept almost the entire fanbase when Halo 3 lost over 1/6 of it. Sorry but it seems to me that Reach was considered a good game. If your next post isn’t mindless like the rest of them I’ll gladly continue this arguement, if it’s another angry and childish response I won’t bother.

Amen man, amen

> I know this topic has been talked about a lot but I think we needed these changes. Halo 5 as everyone knows is completely different than CE, halo 2, or 3. Halo CE came out in 2001 if the player base was in high school they would be around 30 something by now. Halo 2 came out in 2004 player base would be around their mid 20s . Halo 3 came out in 2007 the player base now would be in their early 20s or late teens. These are just averages assuming the minimum age to buy halo but there are younger players I was playing halo 2 at the age of 10 but as people get older they grow out of playing xbox daily most original people who played halo ce doesn’t play anymore now it’s the new generation and if they stuck with the old way of playing other games like Titan fall, battle field, and call of duty would get these new players instead of halo because they are going to ask “would I rather jog around a map and shoot or jump across building slide in for a kill with a shot gun?” (And yes I realize the old halos took more skill I’ve played them) what I’m saying is it sounds a lot cooler and more fun to player halo 5 than previous halos and without new players halo will eventually die and some might say well at that point maybe it should and I’ve got to disagree. either way you wouldn’t play halo whether there is a new halo or not but some people enjoy the route halo is going. I’m not saying people who don’t like the way halo 5 has no right to have an opinion I’m saying no one wants to play the same game rapped in a different skin every couple of years unless for some reason you are still complaing that bungie should still be making halo but they would probably be doing the same thing I mean look at destiny so I think bungies halo 4 and 5 would be pretty similar to 343. To end this ill just say I like bungie and 343 both I’ve never judged any game based on who made it. Bungie did a good job with all the halos they have made but that era of gaming is over its time to accept and adapt if you want to continue playing future halos or accept and move on and stop blaming 343 because halo 5 is so different cause they did listen to the community with this one.

While I do agree with you, you are about to get trolled to death for daring to like anything 343 made.

I agree that Halo needs to change and I love Halo 5 and 343, however they are also giving us Anniversary games that play like the originals, so really people shouldn’t hate on them too much for changing the mechanics. Honestly I could go without sprint, they could just make most the maps smaller and take it out, nobody would notice!

Reach was the perfect balance between casual and competitive gameplay.

We can’t Reskin halo to give ourselves a new halo 3. Every halo game as of yet has brought something new to the table, and built off of previous ones. I think 343’s halo has taken lots away and been too audacious. But I think if Halo 6 is like 5 it would be awesome

That’s what happens when a new game in a franchise releases, people move onto that new game. If it’s not good they gradually stop playing and move onto something else. That’s what ahppened in Reach. Reach had less people playing it in the first 7 months than Halo 3 had at the end of it’s third year. Again, Reach did not gain popularity for Halo in any sense. Telling me it sold less is only proving my point. Do you even know what youre arguing?

You see your missing the part where there were two games between halo 3 and reach, but il leave you in your ignorance

> We can’t Reskin halo to give ourselves a new halo 3. Every halo game as of yet has brought something new to the table, and built off of previous ones. I think 343’s halo has taken lots away and been too audacious. But I think if Halo 6 is like 5 it would be awesome

People who argue for no sprint in Halo aren’t asking for a Halo 1-3 reskin. That will be making the game stagnant and stale. One the other hand, the way Halo 5 plays also makes Halo stale due to it following so many other shooters’ mechanics. For example, Halo-- in comparison to Call of Duty, TitanFall, Destiny, and many other shooters-- has an advanced movement system that works pretty uniquely. It introduces many cool experiences to the gameplay that is present in other games. Yet, here are all of the movement mechanics that overlap across Halo 5, COD, Destiny, and Titanfall: Sprint, Slide, Dash/Thrust, Clamber/Mantle, and Some form of Spartan Charge. Now you could argue that Halo 5 is unique because it gives all players even starts and has competitive aspects to the gameplay… But just being competitve and having even strarts is NOT ALL what Halo is about. The fact that Halo played so differently in Halo 1-3 compared to its competitors was the primary reason why I, myself, invested so much time into the game. So, answer me this: Nowadays, what is the point of buying current Halo’s, APART FROM ITS CAMPAIGN, over other shooters if they all contain the same fast-paces, run/don’t run and shoot, gameplay?

Prior to Halo, I used to play Call of Duty and other average shooters and never found anything special or memorable in their gameplay because, for example, they all had a Sprint like mechanic. But when I came to Halo, it was SO much different and held a unique and unforgettable experiences in my memories. Grenade jumps, Rocket jumps, no sprint, Man cannons, power ups, power weapons, viable Vehicular Gameplay, Gravity Lifts out the wazzoo, cover was viable, Ninja assassinations, viable stickies, rewarding gunfights, unavoidable grenades, CQC and intense gameplay, and so much more were what Halo had and other games didn’t. It wasn’t the fact that Bungie was making the games, it was because it provided a unique experience at the player’s disposal. Halo used to SET THE TRENDS in other shooters, and NOW it merely follows. But I want Halo to be IT’S OWN TYPE OF GAME because it will attract many die-hard fans who will consistently play the game, due to it having a gameplay experience never before seen in another shooter. That when anyone goes to a store to pick up a shooter, they buy Halo, play it consistently, and contribute to the community. There are countless other movement systems that aren’t in other games that isn’t even thought of yet that can innovate the Gaming Industry and Halo.

That is why Halo doesn’t need sprint. Although it may be convenient for some, and it is an easy short term way to appeal to other games’ fan bases, like Call of Duty, in reality, those other fan bases will go back to their original game in a heartbeat. Also, something apart from sprint AND no sprint in Halo can also supplement the movement system, like Speed Boosts on the map, or fleshed-out Button Combinations. We, as the community, must find what other movement systems can bring the positives of Sprint AND the positives of not having Sprint to meet a common ground in the community and make Halo better than it already is. Those possibilities are endless, new, original, innovative, and stay true to what made Halo great: being different from other shooters.

You know they used to be things called sewing circle one would gather around and complain about things in the community. I assert This concept has gone digital.

Every halo has had huge changes… every single one but it seems 343s changes arent to the same standard. The only mahor improvement in Halo 5 is weapon balance which could still use work.

Forge? We can have maps actually move now. Warzone? People have been wanting a battlefield-esque 32vs32 forever and warzone is the closest thing to it yet.

Yes, we need a forum dedicated for your region

In terms of gameplay I think Halo is pretty much set now. Maybe add a few tweaks and stuff but don’t change the gameplay too much. Nothing like wall running or anything like that.

Dude no offense, but your format makes it boring to read.

Alright who ever said that those who played the first halo are in their 30s needs a good drop pod dropped on their heads. I have been Playing Halo since Combat evolved first came out I was 12 years old. I am 27 now and have been leading the same company/clan for the past going on 15 or 16 years now.
Those of us who are still around that remember when clan battles were fought not online but at the local video game store we didn’t hack, mod, or lag our way to victory we fought.
Now you have all these no talented punks that Hack, Mod, and Lag their way to winning. The change I want to see is those cheaters banned from the Halo servers for life because they are killing it for the rest of us.

dear 343 ive come hear today to discuss the new changes to strongholds plaza and and couple other issues that need to be fixed to improve gameplay for all people! first things first the mm issue where people can boost by using low lvl accounts to get low lvl players for easy wins is a big skill gap for most that is my biggest issue. second is the new settings with strongholds on plaza… the shotgun and hotel fusion coil should be removed it is a hard enough map to get control without fusion coils and shotguns raining down on you when they have outside control that is a huge mistake made by you guys the rest is alright.

> I miss the halo3 guardians map that was my favourite map I would love it if they brought a remake of that map out for Team Slayer for free for all id be a happy gamer and wouldn’t care much for the change do you guys think the halo3 guardian map would fit in with halo5 ?

yes that would be a great choice for 343 to put that and the pit and even snowbound would be fun heck bring back all h3 maps
