If you are to provide a link, at least read it.
Halo 4 only had more sales than Halo 3 over their respective launch year… Maybe should I add that in 2007, there were about 15 millions Xbox 360 sold, versus more than 50 millions in 2012.

> I know this topic has been talked about a lot but I think we needed these changes. Halo 5 as everyone knows is completely different than CE, halo 2, or 3. Halo CE came out in 2001 if the player base was in high school they would be around 30 something by now. Halo 2 came out in 2004 player base would be around their mid 20s . Halo 3 came out in 2007 the player base now would be in their early 20s or late teens. These are just averages assuming the minimum age to buy halo but there are younger players I was playing halo 2 at the age of 10 but as people get older they grow out of playing xbox daily most original people who played halo ce doesn’t play anymore now it’s the new generation and if they stuck with the old way of playing other games like Titan fall, battle field, and call of duty would get these new players instead of halo because they are going to ask “would I rather jog around a map and shoot or jump across building slide in for a kill with a shot gun?” (And yes I realize the old halos took more skill I’ve played them) what I’m saying is it sounds a lot cooler and more fun to player halo 5 than previous halos and without new players halo will eventually die and some might say well at that point maybe it should and I’ve got to disagree. either way you wouldn’t play halo whether there is a new halo or not but some people enjoy the route halo is going. I’m not saying people who don’t like the way halo 5 has no right to have an opinion I’m saying no one wants to play the same game rapped in a different skin every couple of years unless for some reason you are still complaing that bungie should still be making halo but they would probably be doing the same thing I mean look at destiny so I think bungies halo 4 and 5 would be pretty similar to 343. To end this ill just say I like bungie and 343 both I’ve never judged any game based on who made it. Bungie did a good job with all the halos they have made but that era of gaming is over its time to accept and adapt if you want to continue playing future halos or accept and move on and stop blaming 343 because halo 5 is so different cause they did listen to the community with this one.

But in Halo, simply increasing base speed works far better, as there is no need to accomodate it by changing the map, adding Spartan charge to prevent the double Melee issue from reach, energy shields while sprinting ect etc. So much of Halos gameplay was changed just so we can have this run animation, when 343 could have simply buffed the base speed, without negatively affecting everything else.

That’s just what they tell you, it was more than likely a selective survey. They also said that “mlg pros” wanted sprint…yet if you watch HCS they hardly ever use it, they would benefit far more from increased base speed. But sure, proceed with parroting what 343 tells you instead of countering my points.

> So what, we believe that these super soldiers walk around like they have to check out the scenery of their environment?

No, I believe in gameplay>lore or ‘realism’. Besides, you did not address my point of increasing base speed, you instantly assume I want to move around slowly, which is in fact the opposite. Having sprint makes you move around slower, when in arena especially, as it’s a stupid idea to sprint around the map with your weapon down. Hence why the players in the HCS rarely ever used it.

Plus, if you are going to use that arguement, why can’t we prone? Why can’t we cover peek? Why can’t we shoot around a wall? Why are we wasting hundreds of hours in a simulation? Why are Spartans buying packs to get ‘cool’ items?

maybe with more content for halo 5, or maybe in halo 6 they will listen to the community.

Halo 5’s sales included console, controller and REQ sales added in. It did not sell more or faster than either Halo 3 or 4.

4 had the advantage of the highest xbox install base when it launched. Both Halo 4 and 5 have seen huge sales and population drop off after launch. They have seen that drop off because of the quality of the games.

That’s not us saying the games are bad, that’s the entire wider gaming community.

it would be cool if in the future, 343 would create a ballot box, where you write what you want added, and if a certain amount of people agree than the request for new content is granted

I love the change and how Halo 4 and now Halo 5 changed. LOVE it and I play since the beginning.

But yeah, Halo community ESPECIALLY on Waypoint seems to not accept ANYTHING at all.

Don’t tell me we need change
we were fine with halo 1-3, nobody wanted a change but only light changes enough to make a game feel different in a way which halo 1-3 perfected

> People don’t want to play basic games with consistent gameplay and slow pacing, yet somehow Battlefield is still going strong?

battlefield, is my most played, and favorite shooter series, i can confidently say, each battlefield has been considerablity different then the last, and battlefield 4 is more fast paced then battlefield 3 which is faster the bad company 2, which is faster then bad company.

on topic, no people don’t want to play, sprint-less,SLOW paced, ARENA shooters in 2016.

halo has never had consistent gameplay from game to game? halo 3 is different then halo 2, halo reach is different from halo 3, halo 4 different from reach, and now halo 5 is different then 4. THAT, is why myself, and i can bet you others, buy halo, because they know unlikely call of duty, they will be getting a completly different experience then the last game they brought. the same people who hated halo 4, bought halo 5 because they knew it would be vastly different, just like the people who hate halo 5, will buy halo 6.

i feel they went SLIGHTLY overboard with the thrust packs, and the SPARTAN charge. but no, halo 5 is probably the second best halo mutiplayer

EDIT: by no one, i mean the masses, not the obvious halo die-hards.

  1. Massive dropoff after Halo 3, nearly nonexistent dropoff after Reach, and btw neither Reach or Halo 4 were one of the 2 games that were released after Halo 3. There were 2 games made between Halo 3 and Halo Reach, know your stuff troll, you’re just driving my point home with your ignorance.

> Going back to the fundamental concept of even starts doesn’t in itself suddenly make Halo 5 the best Halo of all time.

I never said it was the best Halo of all time. I just said it’s the closest to 3, which in my opinion makes it the best Halo game in years.

It also shows that 343i knows that they screwed up with 4 and want to do better. I’m definitely interested to see where they take Halo 6’s gameplay. Hopefully it’s mainly tweaks of Halo 5’s gameplay so that they can spend the rest of the time making maps and other content for the game that will actually be there at launch.

You make some good points. I started halo late wasted so much cash on packs I feel very in the middle with halo. I mean if we pay the cash shouldn’t we get the goods? The req system ate 25$ from me for a pack and never registered and the req system makes it really hard to even know what you have half time or most in a full lobby for WZ , you get booted opening packs. So usually can only open packs at end of the day it’s to big a risk. With all this technology and the downfall of MCC I would hope a lot more updates are to come. I was a diamond playing champions in slayer then a 66 playing 140-150s full teams in WZ. Wish they were more balanced like the old days you earned your level off skill not just grindIng. Teams use to go off skill now companies basically ask do you have family if they are hardcore haha so I pick my family first and because I do so, I will never get the same things even if I spend more because I don’t play 10-18 hour days like some adults do. Before though when I played in h3 I earned my 50 legit and played on it. These days its another grinders game now so they seem to put it on same level as any other FPS which lost my interest because well then you have more
options and halo is no longer as unique to me in my opinion coming from middle school when I played CE now married and working I don’t think i would be offended if my kids grow up playing other games I don’t blame them they are all the same it seems. In my opinion

What makes you think Reach was more popular than Halo 3?

What had a massive drop off after Halo 3?

Are you talking about ODST and Halo Wars? Because if so, then I’m going to have to take my leave from your stupidity show-and-tell project, because it’s become to much for me. Or maybe you’re just 12 years old and don’t know how any of this works. Either way.

I think the issue is that. Some are cool with change as long as it doesn’t take anything away.

I’d prefer the game to change, rather then the game never change at all

Yes? Have you seen real special forces today move? They don’t move at dead sprint from point a to point b. They move carefully, check their corners, keep grouped up, and survey their surroundings. Chief used to operate like a real spec ops troop. Now he feels like he is running a marathon.

There are good changes but not enough content like maps gametypes and a very packing campaign

I miss the halo3 guardians map that was my favourite map I would love it if they brought a remake of that map out for Team Slayer for free for all id be a happy gamer and wouldn’t care much for the change do you guys think the halo3 guardian map would fit in with halo5 ?
