I’m making a big deal out of it? He’s the most annoying human character in all of Halo and everyone else thinks it too. All he does is complain that they’re gonna die and its like shut up noone cares lol. I’d rather have a Ms. Rawlins Echo 416 come back from the grave fly the Chief around cause I love her professional and moral-boosting dialog instead of Mr. I Need To Cry To The Chief Every 2 Seconds.

I really don’t like him. I would’ve preferred the real Echo 216 save us instead of a thief and liar. I came up with a theory that the hologram of the woman and girl we keep seeing throughout the game that he has is the family of the real pilot and he’s just been using them to cope with how much of a failure he is.

They don’t even look similar, he has a thick accent and both of them have American accents. They both seem to have American heritage while Fernando is obviously from South America or has ancestry from there. It was pretty funny when he tried punching the Chief and forgot that he’s wearing armor made from titanium lol.

Because cultures mixing in America is totally not a thing…

Dude wtf…He was a civilian stranded in space for months. His reactions to everything is completely normal.

Chief is a soldier who was actually trapped in the vacuum of space for 6 months and has to live with the fact that he’s a child soldier conscripted for a genocidal war and wasn’t expected to survive his entire life. And he completely understands that he’s taken millions of lives from sentient aliens to other human beings like himself. Yet the big difference is that ones a really cool Chad supersoldier who is one of the most recognized faces of gaming and the other is a throwaway npc that most people greatly dislike with good reason.

And there’s a funny thing how when the hologram falls out from the little nook it was hidden in, the “pilot” seems very surprised that it was there. I assume that the real Echo 216 put it there for safe keeping until the attack on the Infinity took place. Then Fernando jumped onto the Pelican completely abandoning and disregarding his fellow UNSC and human beings to just hide like a coward behind dead heroes.

There’s no way the woman in that holo married such a spineless man. They aren’t his family.
