I really would like it too, but in a digital game, the colour black would make the armor inexistent, so also invincible or invisible.

Actually no. Even blue and red teams have advantages in certain areas in Reach. Notice how colors for red and blue are much lighter on all H4 screenshots. I like that. Since halo doesn’t have character highlighting, it can’t have black characters.
I say no to this.

Because its a ba color…
I want a true black to be in halo 4 so badly, its not even funny. I’m tired of that cheap steel crap.
> I want black, it’s my favorite color.
Black isn’t a color, it’s a hue.
And I’m a know-it-all.
You guys are forgetting that there are ways to make black seen in dark places. I also hope it does come back.

Ah huh? That’s why all armies use the colour black to camouflage their soldiers! I’m afraid not.
Dark green employs the highest tactical advantage because we do not typically notice things that look like trees and bushes in the distance or even close and our subconcious partially ignores it. I can guarentee that if you used the colour black on Sandtrap, Last Resort or even Power house you would be noticed in a second. And considering we can now create our own custom camo’s man I’m going to be using professional army camouflage. A fact is that grey was the most effective colour to use in matchmaking in Reach because 70% of the maps we play are from forge world and all of the objects are simply grey. You cannot deny that black would be easier to see in forge world then grey. And considering the fact that Halo 4’s lighting is very bright why not add it? There’s just no good reason as to why not they didn’t in Reach or even Halo 3. Honestly unless we’re playing the campaign mission nightfall 24/7 it does not give an advantage at all.
I doubt there will be many dark places in halo 4, especially on multiplayer as they are made from scratch and would account for lighting.

You must have missed the words “in video games” before going on about the army…

Nope, I didn’t miss it at all.

I thoroughly agree. Especially since I’ve seen mods in Halo Reach of a REAL black. It looks cooler than dark grey. I don’t mod of course, I’ve just seen videos on YouTube. But I think that bringing it back will please a lot of people.
(Note: I do not support modding, I don’t do it, and never will, DON’T MOD!!!)

Then you’re simply incapable of making a compelling argument?
In CE it was “OP.” you were a lunatic to pick any other color, and this is coming from a guy that played primarily bright red and green Blood Gulch.
The fact that a lot of maps in Reach are grey does not pull away from the fact that EVERY map has dark spaces.
I say this. Fine, let all the whiners have “black.” But to use it you must include one of two necessities:
- A waypoint over your head at all times viewable by everyone.
- Any time you’re not completely out in a sunny brightly lit area, you glow 2x brighter than the energy sword.
Don’t worry though . . . You’ll still look “cool.”
Didn’t ODST have black? Vague customization, but still. I didn’t really like it to be honest.
With the colorful maps 343i is making, and if these ‘skins’ are forced, I think it would be possible to reintroduce black.
They should disallow certain combinations such as black/gray skin on black primary on black/gray secondary.
Or they can just not include black. I don’t really care.

Well that’s very interesting but if you’d actually noticed I’m not all that into black. Also I stated very clearly that the lighting engine in Halo 4 is currently without a doubt illuminative enough to show up pure black upon other colours. You sir are basing your arguement over nothing other then what’s already been fixed. There is no reason not to have it in Halo 4 now. If people are still having problems with seeing black now then there TV’s brightness and contrast settings are too low.
And if your perception of everyone thinking that black is cool my god your wrong. Also I played all Halo’s at the start to Reach with the colour white as my primary and only changed it to dark blue and green in Reach.
I want black too… but we have it in Reach then:P
If anyone still thinks that black isn’t more noticable to other colours on most maps then I’ll go ahead and paint a black spartan and put him on a Wraparound screenshot or warhouse.
Black, well I would use that for ODST armor mostly…thats if its in the game
“Blood is red, our armor is black
kill us and kill us but we’ll just come back
Raid our bases you might just get by
But before you know it, we’ll come from the sky.”
Because everyone will be Black. Its a good color, and hard to see
Black is not a colour. It’s a contrast.
OT: Yes, yes to your proposal.
