I’ll try to make this as clear and concise as possible.
With Bungie.net’s Halo support severed and 343 providing no usable file-sharing substitute, Halo 3’s file sharing has been, more or less, in a state of stagnation following the Halo Series’ change in ownership. Without the community infrastructure we used to rely on, the only way for one to obtain user-created content is through peer-to-peer. This means either downloading a recent custom gametype or map that you just played with your friends, or by downloading from the File Share of people met in Matchmaking.
As most any of you who still visit this board know, Halo 3 is being given out to all Gold members, free of charge. This will result in the last and largest surge of population the game will see. How many could it be? Nobody knows. It may be several dozen, or it may be some significant multiple of the present population of just about eight thousand. What we do know is that for many players, over the course of two new Halo games and God knows how many other titles, hard drives get corrupted, old game data gets shoved to make room for ever-larger DLC, and sometimes a whole system gets replaced.
The problem: We will have a significant influx of players with no custom games or maps to play.
The solution: We use the power of our community. Some of those who have kept their Halo 3 (or, at least, got another one at some point) may find that somewhere along the line, they have been given the expanded file share once reserved for owners of Bungie Pro. That’s 24 slots right there. Players who wish to assist others are to fill up their File Share with as many custom maps and gametypes as possible. It doesn’t matter if the maps are of your own creation or someone else’s - what matters is that they’re fun, clean, or at the least, playable. If you want to participate, post the gamertag on which you’re hosting your files and any notable maps and gametypes therein (e.g. Duck Hunt, Tremors, MLG, etc.).
I’ll update this OP with gamertags of participating people that offer high-demand maps if it gets enough momentum.
I fully support this cause and pledge to only upload BALANCED and FUN infection games.

I have some good custom games in my fileshare. An unheard of gem called ‘Man-Cannon Wars’ with a gametype called ‘mcw’ to go along with it, some remakes of old maps, ‘V’ an amazing infection map, and a very unique slayer map called ‘Distortion’ among others.

Ooo… I have some rare Infection maps and game types that appeared in Matchmaking as a special event of some kind (forgot). I also have some official MLG game types and maps, official Grifball maps and more.
I will be editing my file shares to squeeze in as much in as I can.

I’m looking for a gametype and map that was on Sandbox. One player would spawn with a sniper on the middle level of Sandbox and all others would be in the lowest level underground. When the players on the lowest level spawned they had flamethrowers but could drop them and then have no weapon. All around these players on the lowest floor were dummy spartans, looking exactly like the real players. The goal was for the person with the sniper to find and kill the real players in a certain amount of time.
If anyone knows the gametype that I speak of please reply. Yes I do think that it’s modded, but it’s not a bad mod against the spirit of the game.
I have some semi-popular infection gametypes in a silver account fileshare:
