After the way Halo 4 ended I feel we all felt Compasion for John .Going into Halo 5 I hope to see 343 focus more on His past as he Explores his Humanity .I feel as if John needs a symbol from his past .The Coin Halsey gave him when he was 6 would be perfect .It is a symbol of youth that was stole from him .I would like to see this Coin In a future Halo game .
I think that a multiplayer that focused on skill and teamwork with balanced weapons and no loadouts or perks would also be nice.
I think John still has the coin, but we’re not sure what happened to it. Last I heard, Mendez gave it to John as a going away present right before the Covenant invaded, and who knows what happened to it afterwards?
@DarkCullen: Sure, but we’re not talking about multiplayer here. There’s more to a game then shooting up your friends.

He talked about something he would like to see, I said something I would like to see. We started out equal…oh wait this is Halo 4 where people can start with a mini sniper and a shotgun, my mistake carry on good sir 
Turning him into Data from Star Trek is a bad idea. I thought he was awesome before all of this.

I respect your right to complain, of course, but this thread is about Master Chief’s humanity. It’s hardly a place to complain about MP.

Sure a lot of balancing can be done, but it’s not reasonable to ask for a complete change in direction. If anything, tune Halo 5’s components to provide a core much like Halo 4, but more balanced and more in line, gameplay-wise, with H1, H2, and H3 than Halo 4 was.

Oops, I’m sorry for feeding a discussion that wasn’t exactly condusive to the point of this thread.
Anyway, I like the coin idea, OP, but I don’t think the next two games should focus too heavily on John’s past. Reference it in key places, but the story needs to push forward in its own direction.

I enjoy seeing more Humanity added to John, and I agree in some ways it would be nice for him to have a symbol, I believe in some ways Cortana was always that symbol.
Adding more Humanity doesnt mean he isnt capable of still being a bad -Yoink- killing machine capable of bone crushing aggressive reactions, it just makes him more realistic and someone to truly look up to as a character.

I believe that Bringing In Kelly ,Fred and Linda would help bring out the past aswell .Problem is If Halo 5 will be the darkest Halo game what if they Kill 1 or all of them off ?

Personally, I would much rather have Master Chief be humanized. Sure, it’s fun to kill aliens as a personality-less space marine, but humanization thing really adds more depth to the story overall.
Yes, I do hope (since Halo 5 is suppose to be “dark”) that we do get to see John’s past and Dr. Halsey’s too.
