Seriously…this needs to be in Halo 4
I was just replaying Halo Wars after a run of Reach (especially the penultimate level using the MAC) and I can totally see the fun that it would be to rain long range vehicular devastation with it. Like a Gauss hog on supersteroids
inb4ZOMGOverpowered
every Halo wars vehicle should be in H4
every one except the Grizzly, it’s just an uberScorpion, no need for that now is there?
to what your saying, the cobra is a guass hog on “Superserioids” i disagree, and agree at the same time
the Cobra is a very slow vehicle, and it is very weak with a slow turning cannon,
it’s meant for long-range attacks, not front-line combat
but it IS powerful
IMO,
-it should be able to destroy ANY vehicle (except pelicans/phantoms/Vultures, provided that they are in-game) with ONE shot while it is in Lock-down mode
-it should not be able to look up very well, limiting it’s use to ground armor
-it should have a slow turn rate, slower in lock down mode
-two shots from an unlocked corba should kill a spartan, but those guns are very inaccurate, and are best when used against vehicles

I don’t think the Cobra should make an appearance. It’d essentially just function like a slower Scorpion. It would be easily countered by Spartan Lasers, Rocket Launchers, and the ilk. If an opponent is able to get close to it, you’re done.
It would be neat to see in Halo 4, but it would ultimately be a frivolous addition to the game.
I agree with the balancing issues
The steroids comment was about firepower alone
the cobras’ Gauss cannon should act like the MAC in Halo reach…with a charge time and slowish turning times

I was mainly talking campaign
I do like the idea that the Cobra should be in game (Made similar threads before on the subject). I would’nt say it would definately be like the Scorpion in a sense. It would be more like a sniper rifle on wheels with plenty of cons to go with the pros.
Cons:
-Its quick to go into lockdown, but its not the same going back.
-Cannot move at all in lockdown mode.
-Slow turning speed.
-Vulnerable at close range, especially with infantry.
-Long reload time
-Shots are less powerful than a scorpion shot outside of lockdown.
Pros:
- Regular shots have a faster firing rate than that of a Scorpion
- In Artillery mode, it can kill any target with the exception of Pelicans or Vultures (Assuming of course they are useable)
-Has more armor than the Scorpion.
-Has an infrared ranged scope to hit long range targets.
-Moves slightly faster than a Scorpion.

1st one i do not agree with, it’s slow either way
2nd and 3rd are False
cobras are lightly armored to give more room for the guns
also, slower than the tank, but only slightly
tell me which is heavier, a 90mm cannon, or a pair of 30mm Railguns along with a 110mm Heavy Gauss cannon?
Maybe if you view it in the perspective from Halo Wars, but it has to be repurposed for a FPS viewpoint.

yes…for campaign I was thinking about a mission made juuuust for it
